    break-your-neck tiles on the patio

We believed our project manager when he said the tiles we were using in the kitchen extension would work perfectly outdoors on the patio. And they do look good (and seem not to have cracked through the winter) but they are absolutely lethal when wet. My question is - can anyone recommend a...

I've seen this kind but they are not really 'programmable'. I need one that allows multiple settings in a 24hr cycle.

Replacement for Smiths Programmable Light Switch Timer?

The switch that controls my porch lights has given up the ghost. Is it a Smiths programmable but it also has a separate switch to control a non-programmable light (see photo). I haven't seen any with this kind of functionality - is it possible to get a replacement or must I buy a separate...

which replacement lamps for o/s Up & Down lighting?

OK thanks - I thought CFLs were even better but I'm happy to get LEDs for the outside lights. Any thoughts on the 7w v 9w for a '35w' fitting? I know 9w is equivalent to 40w but is that just in terms of output? Will it be a problem in terms of heat? Can anyone recommend short 7 or 9w LEDs?

which replacement lamps for o/s Up & Down lighting?

I have a few bulbs to replace in my outside Up & Downs. The originals were Prolite 7W GU10s but I can't find replacment CFLs anywhere to fit (they need to be max of 57mm in height). I've found 7w LEDs short enough - but I'm not sure how much more expensive they are to run or how viable...

Re: the TV - given the chain of events here would repairs be covered by a fault warranty or would it be classed as 'accidental' damage (requiring house contents insurance)?

power surge wrecked Sky box or TV through HDMI splitter?

I have plugged the HDMI line (that tuns to the Kitchen TV) directly into the Sky box and there is nothing coming through. I can't test with another cable because I'd need another 20m and the TV is mounted in a unit so its a pain to connect up to another local box. The reason why I'm...

power surge wrecked Sky box or TV through HDMI splitter?

I haven't got a clue when it ocmes to electrics but if it wasn't some kind of surge and it can't travel down HDMI then I'm stumped. The problem started IMMEDIATELY after the elecrical blow-out which was a loud bang. I checked the circuits today and I'm pretty sure that the 'downstairs...

power surge wrecked Sky box or TV through HDMI splitter?

Iggfer - looks like you win the diagnositc prize. I have connected the Sky box directly to the TV via HDMI and it seems to be working (touch wood). I guess that means the splitter is defunct (although I noticed the red lights were still working). Does this sound right now? that I need a new...
