    Fitting Shower Waste

It was the shower waste dip tube that had come out. Just needed a bit more wiggling and it went in.

    Fitting Shower Waste

I was cleaning this waste and accidentally pulled it out. It now won't go back in. I tried shoving it and turning it etc. Is there a knack? There is no access from below.

    Stain on Ceiling

These stains appeared on the living room ceiling. I have lived here for 2 years and the stains weren't there before. I took the floor up upstairs and there's nothing there. Is it feasible that this is an old stain that has bled through after 2 years? If I put a moisture meter directly on the...

    Tiling External Corner

My tiles don't have a finished edge so I'm using mosaic along the edge of a shelf. Which of these looks best: 1. Aligning the mosaics to create a continuous grout line with the tiles. 2. Just go straight across with the mosaics and don't line up with the grout line.

    Bath Installation

Thanks. The joists look good. No holes have been drilled because all the plumbing and electrics are in the eaves. Also there's a load bearing wall below where the bath will be. Regarding the hot and cold feeds, as mentioned there are 2 shower pumps in the airing cupboard. Each supplies it's own...

    Bath Installation

I want to put a bath in the area in the photo. The area is 2.75m wide and has a sloped roof above with a velux window in it. There is an eaves door, a socket and a radiator behind where the bath will be. I won't be installing a toilet. I'm considering either a free standing bath or a normal...

    Eaves Wind Tunnel

Yes it's a very old property and yes one of the walls was added later to create the cavity. I wanted CWI in the whole house. Some of the walls have normal cavities and some have the 10'' ones. He declined to do the normal ones, he said it's only economical for him to do a job if he can do more...

    Eaves Wind Tunnel

No he just held his hand over it. You can feel a gale blowing up the cavity. I measured it myself, see pic.

    Eaves Wind Tunnel

It turned out the wind is not coming through soffits, it's coming up through the wall cavity. I had a cavity insulation company round but the guy said he can't do it because the cavity is 25cm and the product they use is only certified up to 10cm. Anyone know of any companies that can handle...

OK Thanks. Yes it does seem to be the highest point in the CH pipework. Will test it when I refill the CH.

    Yes it does.

    Pipe to nowhere

This pipe tees off the CH pipework and doesn't go anywhere. Is it there for expansion or something? I have the CH drained down at the moment. Should I remove it or leave as is?
