just had rad off wall to do a bit of plastering, just wondering about remaking the joint on the lockshield valve , will it seal by just compression or will i need to put a bit of jointing compound to remake the joint, it is one simaler to this...

presume water is going past the seal as water level is well below the overflow pipe. how do i make any adjustments. cant seem to find the instalation info ?

i have this flush valve in our toilet , http://www.lunns.net/cistern%20spares/arcadiaflushvalve.jpg but it quite frequantly drips water into the pan, if i take off the rubber washer and give it a wash it might be ok for a short time , not sure if it has anything to do with the split button...

i was going to solder a joint in some pipework but it is only about 12" from the stop tap, would it be safe to heat the pipe so near to something that has a rubber washer inside ?

just a quickie is it best to remove excess solder from a joint with a wet or dry cloth and why ?

just after a bit of advice on using solderless fittings, how much solder do you add to use the fittings that dont have a solder ring already in them also how do i get the solder run upwards say when im soldering the bottom joint of a T joint. thanks

im going to fit a new brass float vave to the outside loo , i have read about valves that are part 1 or 2 , can any one tell me the difference and wich one should i be using , also do i need to fit rubber washers either side where it connects to the cistern ?. thanks
