    Free DIY stuff!!!!

Not quite free diy stuff, but does anyone know if such a scheme exists? Basically I've been doing lots of jobs this past year and have excess boxes of tiles, bags of adhesive, litres of nitromors, forests of lumber. Maybe an exaggeration, but does any kind of scheme exist where I can just...

    Posts and fence same day?

I'm finding differing advice online so just thought I'd double check with people on here. I've got a pro coming to remove an existing fence and erect a new one 1m further forward. It's approx a 10m run with gates. The fence is closeboard with arris rails and wooden posts set in concrete. He's...

Fixing cant rails to fence posts

Please can the learned few offer their opinions on which of these is the strongest method of screwing cant rails to 4x4 inch posts set in concrete, or are they all pretty much the same? They'll be just less than 3m in length between each post, then featherboard on to these. Thanks for...

Trim/cut/minimise neighbour's ugly plant growing over fence

AFAIK.... you are not allowed to kill the plant but the plant is allowed to die as a result from being cut back to their boundary, as long as there's no preservation order. imagine a line/plane straight up from your boundary/boundaries. cut the plant back to this line. all parts you cut off...

    Red Robin

regular pruning encourages the shoots and ergo the leaves. you wont get flowers on a very often pruned bush though, you'll need to let it establish more. whats around the bush? is it fighting more vigorous plants for nutrition?

    Wood, Metal or Plastic.

For metal sheds is condensation really that much of a concern? And is leaving the door open the solution? ie. does it need that much vent? Perhaps a cut out of the roof with an additional overlapping apex would be a solution?

    is this a faulty fitting?

Hmm okay thanks. I got it from screwfix, it's s pegler brand, annoyingly bought over their unbranded option. What's the best brand for compression type fixings like this? Cheers again

    is this a faulty fitting?

Hello gents if anyone can offer their advice on this it would be appreciated. I removed my cold water feed isolation tap so that I could fit a new angled one, shown here: The tap leaks whenever the shower is run or the toilet is flushed, no more than 10 - 40ml. I connected it with some...

    Under cabinet lighting question

I'll make a stink don't you worry, homebase has had plenty of money from me on plants that seem to struggle anywhere but in-store. Regretfully I will have to ask you to elaborate on the 79W/m - how did you get to that? Thanks again

    Under cabinet lighting question

Hi yes we did look at LEDs I think they look smart but actually in the end we went for these http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=041790 as the white finish exactly matched our units they were discreetly installed, the light...
