    i thought i was quite clear with my needs. for example, i said i wanted 6 pirs downstairs and they had to be hard wired to the control panel. i'd also like them to be quad pirs. so, will the AMQDs be fit for purpose or do i need some other piece of texecom kit?

    unfortunately, the company is neither nsi nor ssaib! 2 out of the 3 comps who gave us quotes are not registered. one was nsi registered but then their quote is for the least equipment and the highest cost! so i'll probably DIY.

    for gas and electrical work, i check to see if the engineer is approved by national boards. so, in the same vein, for security system installers, is the nsi check worthwhile?

    got a quote to install risco/rokonet home security system. are they any good? compared to texecom, honeywell, adt etc. the panel is gt600 series. the pirs are V40DT. (don't think its the V40QDT) thanks.

    just asking guys, are units from honeywell and risco group as good as others? eg honeywell IR8M (pir) and SHK8M (shock sensor). eg risco V40DT (pir) and RWT72MIQ (door sensor).
