Clay pipe broken to drain - fix?

I am connecting a 110mm pvc to clay pipe and the connection of the clay pipe to the drain itself has failed, which I guess is fairly common. Essentially it is intact, it is just the the larger "collar" type connection which is still connected to the drain. I can set it against the collar, and...

    Using soil pipe for drainage?

I have to connect from a soil stack to a clay drainage pipe (less than 1m). I'll use a flexible adaptor for the clay to PVC, but is it a no-no to use a short run of soil pipe to use as drainage?

    Waste into soil stack

Thanks - where do you get the solvent weld ones? Also, I will be bringing 40mm (not 32mm as stated) waste into the branch. Effectively this will come to the outside wall about a metre away and connect into the branch. This will obviously mean a 90 bend as the 40mm comes out of the wall. I...

    Waste into soil stack

I bought one of these to take toilet and sink waste. http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Roofing%20&%20Drainage/Soil%20&%20Vent/Branch%20110mm%2092.5/d250/sd2849/p15397 I guess the smaller holes are for drilling to accommodate 32/40mm waste? Do I also need one of these to take the 32mm...

    Extending 6mm cooker cable

Thank you. I thougt it would be ok to extend using an appropriate rated connection unit, but as there will be a new (approx 2m) run to the new cooker switch location and then another 2m from the cooker switch to the new cooker connection plate, I was just a bit concerned about the 3m rule (is...

    Extending 6mm cooker cable

Need to extend existing circuit because cooker switch will be moving. I will be adding about 2m of cable. Can I use a cooker outlet plate to extend the circuit and make this accessible in a base cabinet?

    New Water Supply Options

Ok - do you know whether the water company would therefore want to charge two fees for one supply. i.e. should we tell them (once the houses are separate) that they should provide separate bills for water usage from then on?

    Moving existing supply

Ah OK - I'll try and take a picture of what they leave me once they have done their bit next week, as I may not have interprested what they said correctly. I basically said that I was worried I would be left with sealed fuses and I'd have to call them out again when spark arrives, or arrange a...

    New Water Supply Options

Have just purchased a house which essentially has one half in good repair and the other half that needs demolishing. Essentially two separate houses which at some point became one! The water supplies into a stop cock located in the derelict part of the building. I wish to retain the good half...

    Moving existing supply

Thanks all. To clarify, I have bought a new flat and the supply is in a ridiculous place close to the floor. They will be moving it up the wall, and the CU will have to move also, at some stage. No immediate need for power, ands I haven't appointed a spark yet, I'm just trying to plan things...

    Moving existing supply

Having the existing supply moved up the wall a tad. The letter tells me that the electricain will have to install new tails. At the moment, the current supply has fuses with a seal. When they move the supply, is it now standard practice to install an isolation switch as well? Otherwise how...

    Removing and replacing ridge slates

I have essentially stripped ONE SIDE a roof, and when I got to the ridge slates, I removed these without taking the ridge tiles off the roof, using a slate hook, removing the two nails for each slate using the hook. I didn't want to take the ridge tiles off because the mortar is very strong...
