Have discovered that the steel armour has not been earthed on the SWA that supplies the garage. The SWA is connected to 6mm T&E at a heavy-duty JB in the loft with the steel armour cut back before the cable enters the JB. Was thinking that I could clamp the steel armour and feed an earth wire...

:oops: it's the bending over and doubling up the bare conductors I'm talking about.

Is it a requirement to double up on the conductors in appliances when fitting?...have noticed single and doubled in JBs and sockets.
