    Building regs extending heating system

Thanks for that! Boiler is up to it as when I had it installed I told the engineer then that I would be doing the Attic and he said it would be more than up to the job. I am a bit ignorant of building regs. I know they are a good thing in some circumstances but it is frustrating not being...

    wood classification for loft floor.

Hi, I am about to remove the loft floor to re-trim for new stairs. The architect has not specified a classification for the wood to use only that it matches the size of the current floor up there (45x145). I am going to use treated C16 grade and double up for the trimmers. Is this acceptable...

extending heating system up into loft conversion

Hi, Thanks for the reply. The system is a sealed system (combi - oil fired). I will not be touching the fuel side of things only extending the pipework up with 22mm pipe and off to the rads with 10mm micro bore. Cannot see why I need an engineering inspection, can you?

central heating extension into loft conversion

Thanks for the reply. The boiler is oil fired (live out in the sticks). However, I will only be extending the radiators up to the third floor 1 rad in each bedroom. I have already extended the system down stairs by adding 2 rads. They all work fine. I also know that the boiler and pump...

Hi, I am about to convert the loft space in my house into 2 bedrooms. I was planning on carrying out the extension of the central heating system myself. However, my architect has told me that this has to be carried out by a heating engineer and also inspected by one prior to building regs...
