    Whose fault is the flooding?

Spot on Norcon. What the posts to this issue show is that we don't know! There are as many 'experts' sceptical about global warming as there are those that support the theory.

    Whose fault is the flooding?

I guess the point I am trying to make and this was the real intent of this post when I started it is that I am sick to the back teeth of the press, the locals, TV pundits trying to find someone to blame other than natural forces. I say again, if I buy a property on a potential flood plain then...

    Whose fault is the flooding?

Your wrong Big Tone......you pays your money and you takes your choice. Man up and take responsibility for decisions, good or bad that you make. I lost a fortune on a property purchase before the crash 6 years ago but guess what ? It was my decision and I take full responsibility for the loss I...

    Whose fault is the flooding?

Spot on Noseall. I presume that AronSearle would be first in the queue to stump up the taxes required in order to bring flood defences up to a standard to defend what we are now experiencing. Oh, and lets not stop at flooding lets put into effect measures to protect any future 6 foot dumps...

    Whose fault is the flooding?

Squeaky, buyers have to be responsible for what they spend their money on. It really isn't rocket science to establish if the property you wish to buy is vulnerable to potential flooding. It seems to me that an awful lot of people turn a blind eye to the dangers of buying in an iffy area and...

    Whose fault is the flooding?

Err........bit of common sense might help and a tad of simple research by the buyer. Cant think who else should be responsible other than the buyer.

    Whose fault is the flooding?

Hurr Durr.......To quote AronSearle earlier 'What are you going on about' ??

    Whose fault is the flooding?

Conspiracy theory hey!! Seems my view on this has little support as I expected. ..... We are in a blame culture so it seems someone has to be found to blame and carry the can. Cant we accept that:- ...this is extraordinary weather than it is not economically sensible to cater for. ...that...

    Whose fault is the flooding?

Whilst having every sympathy for those suffering from the extreme weather conditions am I alone in being of the view that there is a choice issue here! If I chose to live on a flood plain should I expect that i might get flooded at some time in the future. It seems that once again we, the...

    Makita HR2450 hammer drill repair??

thanks for that but I guess that if the hammer is ok the motor must be as that droves both functions. I think Noseall has probably got it right when he says 'works em to death' . I must admit. I do like messing with them and the odd gear is only a few bob so sometimes it is worth having a look.

    Architects Certificates v NHBC. ??

Well what a startling observation.....I presume with that degree of intellect you are a member of Mensa. Perhaps you might like to direct that brain power towards answering the effin question

    Architects Certificates v NHBC. ??

what a ridiculous comment to make and how sad are you that you need to try to make a petty point. The UK building regs are, for good reason, the most draconian in the western world. Why would you want/need to do more? Using your logic why stop at NHBC....lets have another set of regs over an...

    Architects Certificates v NHBC. ??

Again, Jed confirms my own experience. We build 7/8 units each year so there is a fair bit of wonga to be saved but only if we don't lose lenders.

    Architects Certificates v NHBC. ??

my reply?? I am agreeing with Mikric that is, that the NHBC bring in so many additional requirements!! What part of that don't you understand :?:

    Architects Certificates v NHBC. ??

That is spot on the problem we are having with NHBC ......you seem to be happy with LABC who I understand are content for developers to simply comply with Building Regs

    Architects Certificates v NHBC. ??

hi, does anyone have an opinion on Building Defect guarantees? We are fed up dealing with NHBC and are thinking of alternatives including Architects Certificates. Can anyone provide some feedback on these as a suitable alternative? Are they readily accepted by lenders. Any...
