    Tiling in the Bathroom

Here’s the situation: I currently have tongue n groove all around the lower half of my bathroom (put in by previous owner) & I wish to tile this half instead. Now I know it is not really ideal or advisable to tile directly tile onto wood tongue n groove; but on closer inspection the wall...

    Cold Room

Thanks for the reply John. Unfortunately access to under the floor is restricted due to laminate flooring. It is a combi/pressurised system that I believe to be not too dirty. I assume that fitting a larger rad & adjusting the pipe work above floor level is the only option. Thanks

    Cold Room

Hey??? The current radiator is a double in that it has a front & back water filled panel, but the rear panel does not have any fins on it, I assume to make it a slighly slimmer design. Would a double rad of the same size but with fins on the front & rear panels make much difference to the...

    Cold Room

Thanks for the replies guys. I have been doing some BTU calculations & think I will go down the route of replacing the current rad. When I do this is it ok to stick some fresh inhibitor into the new rad to get it into the system?

    Cold Room

Hi Again Before I start I know it is bloody cold at the moment, but here goes anyway. I have a 2 bedroom terrace house with 6 rooms in total. Now the living room is at the front of the house with the front door opening directly into it. Due to this it seems to be the coldest room in the...

    Gas Meter

Hello All Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, but here goes. My gas meter is situated in the corner of my living room in a small cupboard & when there is demand for gas (hot water, heating etc) the meter makes a pulsing sound, almost like a diaphragm sound. Now I just...

    Mould In Bathroom

Thanks for the sound advice. Fitting a fan to extract to the outside world would be awkward but I could fit one that could extract into my loft space, or is this not advisable? Thanks

    Mould In Bathroom

Hi There Hopefully I am posting this in the best forum for this question. I have a problem with mould that keeps reappearing in the corner of my bathroom. The corner is not exposed directly to any water but is on an outside wall, and is purely painted (no tiles etc) so suffered from...

    Hot Water Temp

Hi There Am I ok to adjust the hot water temperature pot that can be found on the main board on a WB 240 RSF as this boiler has no temp control & the water appears to be getting way too hot? Thanks

    Varying Water Temp

Is that the one above the pump on the pipe work or the one at the rear/bottom of the boiler behind the water-water exchange?

    Varying Water Temp

Hi All On a WB240RSF what is it that monitors the water temp, as my water temp goes up n down like a yoyo during showers. Is it the sensor just above the pump that has this job? Thanks

    Pump Bled Screw

I want to check the operation of the pump, as best I can without removing it.

    Pump Bled Screw

Is it safe to remove the pump bleed screw on a WB240 whilst the system is cold but still pressurized? I am pretty sure that it is for obvious reasons but every time I loosen the screw the water flow never seems to stop so I am reluctant to remove completely incase the full 1 -1.5 bar pressure...

    WB240RSF on & off

Just discovered something else; if the hot water is left running for a long while, like a long shower, or the heating is left on, eventually when the system gets very very hot then the boiler will stop clicking on/off & the temperature stabilizes. Does this have any relevant on things? Thanks

    SDSL Connection Issue

I have a customer with a SDSL connection & periodically the router will show that it has lost sync, even though there is still a connection & internet access. That said I cannot get a connection to hold over approx 100 hours which is awful considering they are paying hundreds of pounds a month...

    WB240RSF on & off

When you say combustion section. Could it be something as simple as the burners needing a clean etc cos I do not think it has been serviced for approx. 2 years. Thanks

    WB240RSF on & off

Hi There I have a WB240RSF which is working, as in it will produce hot water & central heating. However if either hot water or heating is demanded the boiler will fire up as expected but then proceeds to drop the burners & reignite continually throughout its use. As I say the water gets hot...
