Heating and Hot Water Controls Upgrade Advice

No probs. I can see that replacing the current stat with a CM907 is possibly the cheapest and easiest way to do this. It's not a major problem having the hot water timer still in the airing cupboard, but it would be good to have them combined.

Heating and Hot Water Controls Upgrade Advice

Cheers. Yep, I know the boiler ain't the best, but it's not been too bad for us. I thought that if I just replace the current thermostat with something like a CM907' I wouldn't need new wiring? Like I say, ideally I would replace the current stat with a combined heating/hot water and...

Heating and Hot Water Controls Upgrade Advice

Next job in my massive list before the new baby arrives is to sort out the heating/hot water controls. We have an Ideal Icos boiler with a hot water tank. The system has a programmer for both heating and hot water by the hot water tank and a separate thermostat on the hall at the top of the...

    Replacing Halogen MR16 bulbs

Thanks once again. Glad I didn't rush into this and now have a much better understanding. The only thing I am not 100% clear on, is why that red live is just terminated into that connector block and doesn't seem to be connected to anything?

    Replacing Halogen MR16 bulbs

Excellent thanks. So nothing in my photos gives any concern? I have ordered the fittings (went with the JCC ones) and some 4.5 and 5w lamps from LED Hut and some junction boxes. Will get myself some 3 core .75mm heat resitant flex tomorrow.

    Replacing Halogen MR16 bulbs

So, my intention is..... Remove the transformer. Put a junction box in its place. Wire in the Live and Neutral that currently go in to the transformer, as they are, into the new Junction Box. Remove the connector block that is joining the earths, and put them both into the new Junction...

Adhesive / grout and trim advice

Thanks. I know about tile on tile and the things to consider. I am thinking now Mapei Keraflex (or keraquick?) and Ultracolour? Mainly so I can order cheaply online, but have access to it locally if I need more than I buy. Thoughts on that?

    Replacing Halogen MR16 bulbs

Cheers. So those fittings and lamps would be ok? I am guessing, as they are cheap, they wont have in and out loops on the fittings so probably best for me to go the maintenance free junction box route. Which junction box should I use? Mains in, and out to three lights. In fact it would be...

    Replacing Halogen MR16 bulbs

So, as the lights are old and dirty, I am thinking of taking them out and replacing them. So...if it take input mains cables out of the transformer can I the fit them directly into the first downlight fitting and then daisy chain to the second, and then from the second to the third? Is it as...

    Replacing recessed spot lights

Sorry, I missed answering the question. No access from above. Starting to realise its going to have to be pull off the board and do again. That will also open up more options for the lighting anyway. I would hate to leave what we have, put the new tiles up and then have the transformer...
