The main reason for running 22mm is to improve on the heat, the old half of the house is all 15mm which on long runs and with several 90deg bends, i think stops it being very efficient.
So using 22 for allmost all the pipework should make sure the new system is better....
Was thinking maybe...
Hi
I am installing 5 new Rads in an extension using 22mm Polyplumb above the floor insulation which will then have a screed over the top, I was going to use a 22-15 reducing elbow that speedfit now do, to convert from the 22 to 15 for the rad feeds (up pipes), but i cant get hold of...
Ok im going to use Hep, and cover with conduit which is not a problem, i have the layout sorted now.
The Hep site recommends you put any connectors in an accessible box, so the 90deg bends that i use to go from 22mm Hep to 15mm copper for the upstands will need some sort of housing, i can't...
lots of differing opinions on here :)
Hi thanks for that, that's why i asked as have been researching on the web and can't find anything to suggest one is better than the other, if one person says copper the next will say plastic, was hoping that maybe copper was old school and these days...
Hi
I have just had the shell of the extension done, and before the screed etc is completed i want to run pipes for up to five radiators, the feed for these is easily accessible, my question is would you run 22mm copper or 22mm MDPE for this.
The copper would of course be protected in...
Hi
I want to tile an open plan kitchen area, and also lay engineered oak flooring on the dining side, the problem is the threshold between the two areas is about 4.5 meters.
I have seen the thresholds you use between rooms in doorways, even double doors, but how do you bridge such a large...
I paid £190 for a skip a couple of weeks ago, i rang around and the best price i got was £184 but with a four day delay, so went for the other one, thats down Nr Farnham Surrey, crazy prices.....
Hi
I am going to fit a Limestone fireplace which arrived today, I have been reading lots of tips on the internet about this, I need to attach metal brackets on to the leg uprights, the problem i have is how do you fit these to the limestone?

Hi
Can anyone lead me in the right direction to find specific details of regulations regarding the construction of a false chimney breast to house a gas power flue fire.
I have spent ages on the web searching but can not find anything useful, such as what materials are allowed and...
Hi
I have a problem with my heating system which i am sure is fairly common in older houses.
The drain point for the heating system is on the kitchen rad, the problem i have is most of the pipes run under the concrete floor so there is a lot of water lower than the drain point, the last time...
Hi
Managed to move the light across, the fitting that i got allows the 70mm hole to be 10mm over the joist, and still the fitting goes in OK, and the bulb has plenty of air space for cooling.... :)
Thanks for feed back
I know you should not cut joists but was thinking if i did i could put a steel brace on the joist, but its a lot of extra work and effort, im sure if i asked an electrician to come in and install ceiling lights they would just put them in the best place and not work...
Hi
I am going to install some down lighters in the hall, the problem is the hall is a strange shape. I have measured the ceiling and marked out the location of all lights, so they look symmetrical but have found one of them is directly under a joist, the problem i have if i move the light...
Looks great, its amazing how half way through when its all trashed you start to think it will never get done, but in the end, after a lot of hard work and busy weekends you can stand back and say that's a good job :D
Thanks for all your feedback, newbee have looked again this morning and although its cracked it feels solid, so will carry on with other jobs and see how the time goes, if time is on my hands i may take it off anyway, as i would rather it not be cracked. and anyway its all good practice....
:)
You mentioned crazing, well have just checked its now 5 hours since i did it and it has got cracks in it c**p :x
should i take it off tomorrow and redo it or just plaster over the top? and if i redo it, i guess the cracks are a result of it drying out too quick so a coat of PVA sounds like a...
Sorry to come across as a complete idiot but what is WBA?, google comes up with West Bromwich Albion, but i guess your not telling me to spread a football team on the wall....
