Attatching brackets to Limestone

Hi

I am going to fit a Limestone fireplace which arrived today, I have been reading lots of tips on the internet about this, I need to attach metal brackets on to the leg uprights, the problem i have is how do you fit these to the limestone?
Do you drill hols and use resign to anchor the screws, or do you drill pilot hols and screw straight in, and lastly do you bond the bracket on to the stone?

Any advice most appreciated...
