Why do Builders Merchants make up selling price on a whim?

That I understand but I actually opened a Trade account and not on a cash only basis. I perfectly understand they want to do business with Traders only as they are not there to provide advice - its just that even as a trade customer its seems on a wing and prayer.

Why do Builders Merchants make up selling price on a whim?

I created an account with a national builders merchant and I received a quote for materials. I then had some changes in what I required so I had a new quote made my another member of staff. When I compared the items that were similar on both quotes (75%) the prices were different. So why...

How much can I compress loft insulation?

Current roof joists are 8.5cm, and loft legs come in 17.5cm and 30cm. Loft insulation is 27 or 30cm If I go with the shorter loft legs that will give me 26cm so will need to compress the insulation about 4cm or 13% or 1cm if I go for 27cm insulation. Or I go for the 30cm legs and leave a...
