Hole in Shed Roof Felt (picture included) - Help needed!

Hi, I have a hole in my shed roof. It's about 15cm long right on the ridge where the birds land. I need some advice on the best way to fix this. Do I patch just this area or should I cap the entire length of the ridge with new felt? The length of the ridge is 12ft. Also, do I need...

Is my adhesive going to be OK?

Thanks for your re-assurance. I laid a few more boards later in the day having mixed the adhesive correctly. Trowelling it onto the floor in lovely beaded lines made me realise how stupid I was for mixing it wrong earlier. You live and learn..... Cheers Ade

Decoarator's Caulk and Flexible Gap Filler - Difference?

Can someone explain what the difference is between decorators caulk and flexible gap filler? For jobs like gap filling in skirting boards I've always used flexible gap filler. If there is a difference, when should I be using caulk over flexible gap filler? Any replies much appreciated...

Is my adhesive going to be OK?

Started laying my insualtion boards today with flexible adhesive, but didn't realise the mixture was way too sloppy until half the job was completed. However, the boards have set well with no 'bounce' underneath them. Also, the sloppy adhesive has dried hard so I'm assuming that's a good sign...

Which adhesive for laying underfloor insulation boards?

Hi, Can anyone confirm what adhesive is suitable for laying 6mm insulation boards onto an existing cement floor? Warmup's website says to use a cement based flexible adhesive - is the same as the ready mix tubs of flexible tile adhesive and grout? Or is it the stuff you mix up yourself...

Warmup Underfloor Heating Install, advice please (with pics)

I spoke with Warmup who said it would be fine to locate the XSTAT in the pantry. There is indeed an air temp sensor in the unit, but you can choose not to use it, and just use the floor probe. Thanks for replies. Wrighty

Warmup Underfloor Heating Install, advice please (with pics)

I decided to locate the XSTAT in the pantry as once we've set a program for the UFH, we'll hardly ever need to adjust it. Also, the unit has the floor probe which will monitor the floor temperature. Unless I'm missing something. I'll check with WARMUP tech support to check on best position for...

Warmup Underfloor Heating Install, advice please (with pics)

Hi, I have an 8 sq. metre floor into the kitchen to install Warmup UFH in. I have two heater kits (DWS600 + DWS800). The XSTAT control unit will be placed in the pantry and there is already a RCD fuse point installed in there. I just would like clarification that I'm going about the...

Blanking off pipes for a radiator no longer needed

bengasman - thanks, you confirmed a niggling suspicion I had about not soldering hidden joints...especially as the joint will be near a floor with electric underfloor heating! Mick - the pipes do indeed go through the wall to another radiator (in the lounge). I've decided to replace the...

Blanking off pipes for a radiator no longer needed

Hi, The radiator in our kitchen is no longer needed and I need to do something with the pipes. After draining the central heating system, I was planning to cut the left hand pipe (shown below) with a pipe cutter (chipping away the wall plaster if necessary) and fitting a push on...
