    kamco or sentinel or fernox

I realise ds40 is citric acid , whereas FX2 is phosphoric acid. I see from reading past post that Tony you have vast amount of knowledge. So could you please dispense some to me, by please explain what are the different things they are used for. If you could tell me the use for x800, FX2...

    kamco or sentinel or fernox

Hi, For powerflushing i have been using Kamoc hyperflush as pretreatment and Kamco FX2 for flushing. But as i have been reading through the forum over past posts. I see a lot of people recommending sentinel and fernox. So for a system which had sludge with no aluminium components. Which...

    MagnaClean

I agree with agile about the vortex thing. The example shown in magnacleans brochure is of motionless water, therefore the magnet i think is moer effective. But when you apply it to the real world, connected to the boiler system, the water is moving not motionless.

I have closed the valve under the boiler. So no water can come from that end. So the only direct they are coming from is the magnaclean end. Small bits usually end up in the plat heat exchanger. They settle in the small passages of the hex and then eventually make it inefficient and make the...

    MagnaClean

The system has a drain cock just after the magnaclean. So technically when i drain out from the drain cock, there should not be an magnetic bits coming out of it as they should be captured by the magnaclean. However there are small magnetic bits coming out, they are very tiny but even so i...

    MagnaClean

I was thinking about the vortex thing. As the spirovent are meant to be fitted vertical as well. But then with magnaclean do you make the flow come in from the bottom or top?

    MagnaClean

Yes one. It has the drain cock.

Fitted it on the return flow. I thought the magnet would be super powerful and just suck the magnetic bits out.

    MagnaClean

Fitted one, but didn't catch much dirt. But when you look on the website it shows it is catching tons of dirt. Don't know how small magnetic bits are getting through.

I was just wondering from people who install a lot of magnaclean, if they had any difference in result of magnetite captured if it is fitted vertical or horizontal? I know the manufacturer says they can be fitted 360 degree, but i was just wondering the difference in result. thanks

    Is this correct order?

It is sealed system with the pump inside the boiler. So i thought of just connecting to flow and return of the boiler. What do you think?

    Is this correct order?

the hex is made from stainless steel. I pretty sure that is what all valliant hex are made of. I just thought taking it out would make it a through job.

    Is this correct order?

Hi, I am helping some friends out who have a problem with sludge in there 3 year old boiler. The radiators are new 1 month old. The copper piping is 10 years old. I was thinking of putting in Kamco Hyperflush in the system for one week. Then powerflush it the week after with FX2. I am...

Putting chemical in the wrong hole of heat exchanger

yeah i have put it in the right hole. But i was thinking even though i have flushed it out several times. I get the feeling there might be some liquid stuck in the crevices of the hex. Because when i leave some water in it for a while like 1 day it comes out a light brownish colour.

Putting chemical in the wrong hole of heat exchanger

Hi, I accidently put central heating cleaning fluid in the wrong hole of the plate heat exchanger. Instead of putting it in the heating system side i put it in the other sides. I then put it under hot water to clean out the liquid. Would you say it is safe to put back in the boiler. As the...

    Anyone used Norstrom Prochem ?

Hi, Has anyone used Prochem Sludge Remover from Norstrom? I usually use X800 sentinel when flushing out old systems. But was wondering how Norstrom products are? Also are kamco fx2 or fernox ds40 better than x800 sentinel?
