Anyone heard of Styrofoam for insulation.

So you are saying that Styrofoam is as good as the likes of Celotex, and will do same job of insulating. This providing BR is not involved. Would you like to shed some light on vapour barrier side. If a gap is left between tiles and insulation,is it still required.

    Fox deterrent

If you move the shed foxes will move to alternate place. Yes they are territorial, but without shelter will find another shed. They avoid contact with humans in open. Do not believe the nonsence in newspapers about fox attacks or so.

    Internal and External Insulation

Just been on a website selling k17 and 18. They are saying avoid using k17 as it can lead to problems due to water penetration possibly condensation. They recommend k18 on timber batten or metal furrings. How efficient would they be as compared to a proper cavity build wall

    Is this a builder's lintel?

I think you will find they are normal. I have just taken a wall down and saw quite a few of these so called coke blocks in the wall at random. Whatever you do take advice from proper engineer as you are likely to be given general advice here. Lintel will either be wood or concrete.

Raft foundation query. Pro' opinion please.

Thanks a lot Tony. As usual you have answered with your knowledge. I wish to use it as a study room and a loo, and the other half in as kitchen by removing the internal rear wall. Hope this makes sense. Oh and will be going official route.
