    Thanks for the reply richard mate .... Since posting the question, ive just been out and got some dry wall adhesive to do it properly to dot and dab it...think i was trying to quickly cut a corner on a small area. Thanks again

    No rooms or walls are ever perfectly square. I would dry lay quite a few tiles out first to see where you hit the worse problems of thin slithers of tiles and adjust your plan accordinly. Think more about laying the tiles square to each other rather than from the line of the walls. Personally...

    in some areas of patching up around a new door way and holes in old plaster rather than dot and dabbing can i build up the wall to exsisting plaster level ready to be skimmed by screwing off cuts of plaster to the wall? ...why would this be a bad idea?...it would just be on a few small areas...

    Hello mate. if your after the best finish then just replace the frames. you may spend more time trying to get them looking right than the time it takes to replace them. How are they fixed on? did any nail heads appear when sanding?

    Best to use wood filler first then sand that off, then under coat/ primer....and as for gloss this will show up any minor imperfection in the frames, so use satin or even matt to get neat crisp finish you sound like your after. cheers.

    As others have said you may need to consider the position of the wall/ footings and/or move the man hole inspection chamber etc. moving a manhole is a lot of digging and work...but needs must. If its a self build conservatory im guessing your doing the work yourself and the footings/ foundations...

    Hi i understand from reading your post that your wanting to slightly build over a manhole?? unless im reading it wrongly???...you wont be allowed to do this. Im guessing there will be a dwarf wall in the new conservatory?, you will have to dig down for the foundations of this. cheers
