Which cylinder - standard or ACV?

The $64,000 dollar question! I know flow rates but who can actually say exactly how often, when and for how long they will be used??

    Which 50kW boiler?

There are 5 people living there, but 6 bedrooms (double beds), so worst case is 12 number people. It would be unusual that many people will be occupying the house but worst case scenarios need to be catered for (as always)

    Which 50kW boiler?

There are in fact 36 radiators and 7 towel rails. I have carried out a heat loss calc and made an allowance of 6kW for DHW

Which cylinder - standard or ACV?

These companies manufacture large capacity cylinders for a reason, I don't see why this is not a suitable system for the property. In the context of capacities available a 400 or 500 litre cylinder is small, you can get 1000 - 2000 litres models if you require them. 2 x accumulator stores...

Which cylinder - standard or ACV?

Thanks Dan, are you suggesting hot water priority?

    Which 50kW boiler?

There's no space to link two together or separate them in other areas of the house - it needs to be one really. Have you used the ACV tank-in-tank cylinders before, would you recommend them over a 'normal' cylinder? PS there are some dustbin-lid size shower heads in here and I don't want...

Which cylinder - standard or ACV?

7-day 24-hour programmer on boiler circ - no hot water priority

    Which 50kW boiler?

Yes, the house is nearly 600 sq metre floor area (some existing build and some new build) also the hot water allowance is about 10kW due to six separate bathrooms!)

Which cylinder - standard or ACV?

What would provide more hot water a 500 litre standard coil cylinder, or a 400 litre ACV tank-in-tank cylinder. It is for a large house (linked to my earlier 50kW output boiler post). The property has six separate bathrooms with all the usual draw off demands. I know the ACV would perhaps be...

    Which 50kW boiler?

Anyone able to recommend a good 50kW gas condensing boiler for a large house? Would prefer not to link two smaller boilers. Thanks

    Buffer/Thermal Stores?????

An 8000sq.ft existing house! What is the rule of thumb for the uplift a thermal store can provide i.e. % of additional kW?

    Buffer/Thermal Stores?????

Could someone please explain whether installing a buffer/thermal store after the boiler would provide a higher heat output. For instance, if I need 45kW (peak load), would I get away with installing a 25-30kW boiler? Thanks

    Which Combi Boiler??

What's so weird about the opening question?! Thankyou for your answer, but did it really need the 'gotta love these original questions' remark?

    Which Combi Boiler??

Can anyone answer the original questions? I see this is yet another thread where the focus of reply is not on the actual question. It has quickly spiralled into you lot squabbling over each other. Has anyone installed a storage combi? If so, what are your thoughts? Does anyone dare...

    Which Combi Boiler??

I've seen Vaillant, Alpha and Glow Worm do a 'storage' combi boiler. Must be a half way house between a normal combo and a split system. Any good? Anyone installed these before? Thanks for your comments so far. My budget is £2k lower if possible.

    Which Combi Boiler??

I have recently moved in a 140sq. metre 2 bed house with a bathroom (containing a bath and a shower) and a separate en-suite (containing a shower). The house currently has no heating and I'm looking for an effective and efficient system. Which combi boiler would you experts suggest!

    Pipework question??

The existing single pipes are shot at, unbelievably. There are leaks under the floors and the heating system is currently not in use. I'm unsure how long its been installed, but it has done well maybe 60 years plus perhaps. Is anyone able to provide a web link so I can see what the carbon...
