A while back I had all the radiators replaced in my house and had TRVs installed on all of them. Then subsequently when I was having the boiler replaced the plumber mentioned that I should not have TRVs on _all_ the radiators (especially in the same room as the thermostat). Anyway, I am...

Advice on thickness of plywood for tiling bathroom floor

I used 12mm for my bathroom and it seems fine. I wouldn't go any thinner though. Try and use as large sheets as possible and screw it down to the floor boards very well so there is no movement. sanjay

    inhibitor / noise reducer

If the problem is with the O rings, then can it be rectified or do I have to live with it? Is it likely to be doing any long term damage to the diverter? thanks sanjay

    inhibitor / noise reducer

Briefly checking the fernox website I see that the generic ceneral heating protector has a feature of "reducing boiler noise". So I guess I nned to know whether there is any point in also using a separate noise reducer. Will it make any difference? thanks sanjay

    Whining TRVs

There is a section of piping below the boiler that directly connects flow and return. Is this what you mean by a bypass circuit? No idea about the speed of the pump. The boiler was installed and comissioned only a year ago. I didn't realise that the speed of the pump was something that should...

I remember asking this exact question to guy who installed the rads and he said that these particular TRVs and lockshield valves could be put on either the flow or return. Is there an easy way to check this by looking at the TRV itself? cheers sanjay
