Ripping 18mm, 8x4 sheet chipboard for loft flooring.

If I use 18mm, 8x4 chipboard, ripped to workable sizes to use as loft flooring, is there any reason why it might be weaker than 18mm T&G chipboard flooring? Is there anything I could do to support the butted edges (where they don't meet over joists) in the absence of T&G's? Cheers. :D

Breaking News: I'm a ****wit! Mis read the tooth width measurement on my old blade as being the bore! (tooth's 2.8mm, bore's 30mm.) read it as 28mm bore! Got a nice, shiney new blade from B de-la Q wiv 40 peggys. Cuts like the proverbial hot knife with almost no splintering...

    chopsaw blade size tollerance?

Aye. Thought that meself. Been to B&Q. found a 254mm blade with 40teeth. Bore is 30mm and it comes with reducing rings for 20mm, 25mm (and possibly 15? can't quite remember...) was from the same manufacturer as my saw... Havn't had chance to tinker with saw yet. I'll keep you posted...

    Oil painting tools

I think the technique is called 'Wet on Wet' painting. Stumbled across the tools whilst looking for a silicone wet tool. That bloke with the afro, is he the guy who ends his shows with 'Goodbye, my friend'? What a nice bloke. Looks like a cross between Leo Sayer and Disco Stu!

    chopsaw blade size tollerance?

Cheers, everybody. I got the saw from that bodgers mecca; B&Q. They do sell tct saw blades but I've not seen the one I'm after. I've not taken the old blade off my saw yet. Think I might have a tinker and see what it's made of and if there is a washer in there already. :D

    chopsaw blade size tollerance?

Hey. I'm after a fine blade for my chopsaw (cheap 'n' cheerful Performance power feller). The current blade size is 255mm x 28mm x 3mm. I've not been able to find one with 60-70t on t'interweb that has the same specs. I have seen ones that are 255mm but have a 30mm bore. Would that work...

First cut of new grass - what's best to use?

Hey. Sowed grass seed a week ago and; bugger me! It grew! (may seem unsurprising but i've been know to kill plastic plants!) New grass shot up to about 10mm pretty much overnight so I'm guessing it'd be couple of weeks before its first cut (at 3in or so?) I've got a petrol mower, an...

How easy is it to tile a wall?

As long as you've got a dead straight line to start from and are able to keep even spacing between the tiles, tilling really isn't that hard. Only way you'll know if you can do it is to have a go. Places like B&Q, Wikes, Focus etc all do basic tiling kits that include notched adhesive...

    Seen a ghost?

I've spoken to my brother about all this ghosty lark before. he works with this small-time tv company that 'investigates' haunted places (same thing as 'Most haunted'). He said they've captured strange 'voices' on their audio before when there was no-one in the room. I've listened to one of...

Scarifying - what order to do things in.

Hey. Thanks for all your help! I put down the moss killer about a week ago. All turned black. Bought a cheap n cheerful scarifier from B&Q for £50. Then went nuts with it on the lawn this evening. However: I don't appear to have any grass left! Pulled out 7 bin bags of moss from...

    Seen a ghost?

Cool! Never really thought about that. There have been things that have happend that I couldn't explain. Thing is, I'd be more inclined to try and fit a logical explanation into the situation rather than think; 'ooer! Ghosties!' Incident today at work whilst with the...
