Kitchen: What is the difference between End Panels and Clad on Panels?

Ah yes. is it best to cut the skirting at the end board or make a cutout in the endboard for the skirting to continue? I'm ordering a tall larder cabinet and one side is exposed so I guess I should not bother with the white larder cabinet (as it is just two side panels) and just get the larder...

Kitchen: What is the difference between End Panels and Clad on Panels?

Ah ok thanks for clearing that up. So with the cabinet end panels, they go right down to the floor, covering up the gap with the legs?

Kitchen: What is the difference between End Panels and Clad on Panels?

Looking through the B&Q kitchen stuff. I need end panels for the base units. Though there are listings for 'Replacement end panels (for white cabinet)' and 'Clad on Panels' Looking them up online they look like the same thing?! Just blank panels (in Ivory) except Driving me mad as I can't find...

Busted my Electric Planer. Can it be fixed or should I scrap it?

Yeah I will open it up. I think maybe some of the wood got caught in the blade as there are bits stuck behind the blade. I will try reshaping the metal. Either way would be a shame to bin as if someones broke completely their plate can swap with this :D otherwise if anyone wants it for spares...

Busted my Electric Planer. Can it be fixed or should I scrap it?

Hello all, I was planing a thin piece of wood on the floor. Not sure what happened but when I looked under the Planer the metal plate looked like it buckled. Does anyone know if they sell replacements as I cant find one? Otherwise will have to scrap it. A shame as it still all works.

    Plastering over wood?

Great, will get some oil based paint tomorrow, cheers. Looking at the nails they have that faint rainbow shine to them so its possible they are galvanized ;) One thing I did which I wasn't sure of was apply the pva to the areas where chunks of sand cement crumbled off, though I let it set for 6...

    Plastering over wood?

thanks for the advice roughcaster. I'm not sure if the nails are galvanized, good point. It will be a bit of a nightmare getting them out. Is there anything I can coat them with that will help with the rust? Otherwise might have to keep painting over the plaster. with putting mesh in the gap do...

    Plastering over wood?

more exposed wood that needs plaster over, this time I nailed a bit of mesh to it for the plaster to grip to. Though not sure what to do about the gap? Should I just stuff it with bonding? Though not sure how deep it goes, or put some expandable foam in there and bonding over the top?

    Plastering over wood?

I screwed the plasterboard and the thickness wasnt too bad. I will still need to fill the gap with bonding. Should I scrim tape where the bonding meets the plasterboard and skim over?

How to dispose of old tools?

actually I think they may recycle electricals in my dads area if you leave them outside. I do have lots of old cables that I need to get rid of so can put it all out for the tatters so its worth the journey a bit more.

    Plastering over wood?

yes it will be, though the architrave doesnt sit flush to the wood as the plaster is slightly raised over the wood on the other side. I have plaster board though it may be too thick, otherwise I have some Expanded Metal Mesh and Lath. Would I just nail this to the wood and plaster over that?

    Plastering over wood?

Hey all, the door frame plaster pulled off to reveal the frame underneath. I know plaster doesnt stick too good to wood though if I pva it then put some bondig plaster should that do? Otherwise one trick I saw the plasterer do was to fix plasterboard to the wood and plaster over that, though not...

How to dispose of old tools?

some good answers folks. My dad would probably lob it in the bin :D eBay or Freecycle are good options too, though I really can't think why anyone would want an old busted heart in covered in paint, can buy a new one for £20. I might just have to make a trip to the council office where they...

How to dispose of old tools?

Hey all, I have a heatgun that no longer works. It is a very old heat gun and I think it has now expired. Though what is the proper practice of throwing away old electrical tools? Surely its not something you throw in the household waste is it?

Hey all. So my flat the painters decided to paint over all the nice fixtures in the past. I have some door latches that are 1930s and painted black. They have been covered in emulsion white. Is there any advice to get just the emulsion off without damaging the original paint underneath? Also I...
