    Low pressure issues with shower?

Good point. I'll see about doing a test with just copper pipe and then measure again once the shower is assembled so the flow out of the riser bar without the shower head attached. I do have a video of the water coming out of the riser bar without the showerhead and it looks quite slow. I'll see...

    Low pressure issues with shower?

Thanks Terry, yes the boiler had a full service last week and all seemed good. I'll check the pipe filters when the new mixer bar arrives tomorrow. I'm really hoping that a new thermostatic cartidge inside will fix the issues. Though still not sure if that controls the flow rate.

    Low pressure issues with shower?

Hey Terry, great thanks for the advice I'll try this out, should be easy enough to fit a temp isolation to check the flow. Yes this is coming from a combi boiler. When the shower pipes were installed and I fitted the shower the water was flowing out good so not sure if over time limescale has...

    Low pressure issues with shower?

Hi Terry, thanks for the advice, that is a good point. So do you mean removing the mixer bar and testing the actual hot and cold feed pipes? I will try that thanks. Is there a way to read if the pressure is low when the water is flowing out the pipes?

    Low pressure issues with shower?

Hey guys, I have a riser shower same as in this image. Lately the pressure has been pretty weak. Also the temperature is really up and down going from cold to very hot and back and fourth. I have ordered a replacement mixer bar that I hope will at least fix the temperature setting, though is it...

Dowsil 785 or CT1 white silicone?

Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone can let me know if the 785 has a gloss finish? I cant recall if it was the CT1 white silicone I used for my bathroom or the 785 white silicone. I'm after the glossy finish rather than dull. Or do they both have a glossy finish? Thanks

Slight gap between sink hole cover ok?

Madrab, that is correct. Yeah no leaking. Seams like the b&Q plumbshare isn't too great as my old sink it fit flush perfectly. My only concern is mold developing in the silicone as water sits in the gap. Though everything seems watertight for now.

Slight gap between sink hole cover ok?

Hey all, my sink hole cover to the waste doesn't sit flush to the sink hole and there is a slight gap. There is a foam ring as well as silicone underneath to stop any leaks though still a slight gap if you can see. Is this ok to leave or would you recommend more silicone?

Can bonding plaster dry underneath carpet and underlay?

It will more than likely break or crack though doubt it will crumble to dust as the gaps are small and the carpet is thick. Also the area isn't trampled on very much. The area is also near the radiator. I'm assuming the moisture would either go to the wood or eventualy travel into the underlay...

Can bonding plaster dry underneath carpet and underlay?

Hi all, had some small chunks and warped dipping sides in some of my floorboards. I used some left over bonding plaster to even out the dips and fill gaps. I dried it with the hair dryer though still a bit damp to the touch. I need to put the underlay and carpet on the floor now though will the...

Damp patches in wood after dipping?

Yeah I noticed these areas still have fine tablesalt like substence on them. Does this mean the chemical hasn't been flushed out properly?

Damp patches in wood after dipping?

Yeah true, could be a reaction to sensative areas of the wood. When it does seem to dry it feels a bit tacky and paint doesn't seem to stick well

Damp patches in wood after dipping?

Hey all, wondering if anyone can solve this mystery? Whenever I have wood dipped (paint stripped) I always find there are damp patches or whole areas that never quite dry and keep feeling damp. The areas can range from very small to whole sections and are darker than the rest of the wood, almost...

    Accidently skimmed over bracket holes!

I tried it garyo though no joy. I might actually roughly work out where one screwhole is by taking the skim off and work out the other from the indents in the bracket. I think the work trying to measure up and drill these holes again would take longer than finding the original holes.

    Accidently skimmed over bracket holes!

I think it's all dry now in those areas, though good point I will look out for that in future if it happens again :D

    Accidently skimmed over bracket holes!

I forgot to leave screws in the bracket holes for radiator and blinds. Just wondering if there are any techniques for locating them? I can either scrape off the skim or redrill the holes. More inclined to scrape off the skim.
