Is my flow rate any good?

Installer came back last night and measured flow at ~22 l/min at the bathroom cold tap, but only 16 l/min feeding the boiler - which is odd as they come off the same branch upstairs! Flow seems to vary during the day. He's going to have to come back and trace the pipes back to see if there is...

Is my flow rate any good?

Hi, we had a Gledhill Gulfstream 2000 described as a combined primary storage unit. It was a bit of a monster but gave good performance: http://www.gledhill.net/pdfmanuals/2000%20Range/GS2000-Iss8.pdf I would have thought that if the Gulfstream worked ok then the Vaillant should do.

Is my flow rate any good?

Hi Recently had a new boiler fitted - Vaillant Ecotec 937plus and the hot water flow rate seems crap (though probably a coincidence with the new boiler rather than it being the cause). I can not run the shower and any other tap in the house without the shower cutting off. Or any combination...

    Boiler Fitters In Preston, Lancs

Thanks Agile, that's exactly why I haven't gone down the Warm Front route - and I also have a good idea of the boiler I want. A friend of my wife had hers done by Warm Front and though she was happy that she didn't have to pay the full price (though £3200 for an £800 boiler doesn't seem to...

    Boiler Fitters In Preston, Lancs

Can anybody recommend a good boiler fitter in the Preston area who takes pride in a high standard of workmanship and quality? My wife is disabled and will really struggle with any major disruption in the house, so I need to take this into account. Cheers

Gledhill Gulfstream 2000 Condemned - Alternatives??

Oh dear, I seem to have sparked off a debate around the demise of Gledhill Water Storage when all I wanted was advice on a replacement boiler! Had a look at the Heatmaster and think it might be overkill for our needs now. Any other options? looked at Valliant ecoTec 937, Worcester Highflow...

Gledhill Gulfstream 2000 Condemned - Alternatives??

Sorry, I was aware of the full situation, including that Gledhill Water Storage went into liquidation in 2008, stopped manufacturing heating systems and relaunched Gledhill Response as a service org. to maintain their old products - incidentally whilst not honouring any previous service...

Gledhill Gulfstream 2000 Condemned - Alternatives??

I had the Gledhill service engineer round to look at our Gulfstream 2000 as it was losing pressure daily. He had a good look around, with comments like, "that's US, oh and that's US and that's US too"!! Upshot is he has declared the boiler unusable and dangerous and has disconnected the gas...

3/4" Shower Valve from 1/2" Pipework

I am going to buy a Crosswater thermostatic shower valve mixer to replace an old valve in my ensuite. The technical data I have on the valve states it has 3/4" BSP connections for input and output. However my pipework feeding the valve is 1/2". I am assuming I can just plumb it using 1/2"-3/4"...

Now shower being fitted - water pressure and boiler match!

If you are referring to the old shower valve that I am going to be taking out, it is a Harlequin Optima concealed thermostatic valve set. If you mean the boiler, it is a Gledhill Gulfstream 2000: http://www.gledhill.net/water-storage/2000-range-index/gulfstream1a.htm Cheers

Now shower being fitted - water pressure and boiler match!

Hi all, I am replacing a concealed thermostatic valve shower unit in my ensuite and I'm in a bit of a quandry as to what shower would be suitable. I want to replace it with a new concealed thermostat valve. However the vast majority available (I am looking at Grohe and Hansgrohe) have quite...

Baxi Fs 701s OF Boiler - continuously venting

Hi hope you can help. I have just changed the hot water cylinder connected to a Baxi Fs 701s OF boiler. For some reason the boiler now continuosly vents water back in to the boiler header tank which is also continuously filling up. It seems to have got stuck in some sort of loop where it is...

    Hoover 6 doesn't fill enough

I've got a Hoover 6 Express - one of the ecologically friendly AA rating ones. In my case the AA rating means it doesn't use enough water to wash the clothes properly - so I end up adding more water through the soap tray mid-wash. I know this is how they are designed but does anyone know if it...
