    Ariston MicroGenius 27 DHW Problem

Still no word from BG so this morning I drained the system completely and removed the HEX (had to remove the divertor valve actuator first) and soaked it in Fernox DS3, whilst that was doing it bit I fitted a Magnaclean which was easier than I thought (I did notice inside the piece of pipe I cut...

    Ariston MicroGenius 27 DHW Problem

Not heard anything else from BG so I've decided to sort out the problem myself. I'm going to soak the HEX in Fernox DS3 and while that's working away I'll fit a Magnaclean and hopefully that cures the problem.

    Ariston MicroGenius 27 DHW Problem

The BG guy came back and fitted new sensors but the problem still remained, his diagnosis is that the HEX is partially blocked and advises on fitting a new one. He looked up the part on his laptop and came back with a price for the part of £78 but isn't sure if that's the 'fitted' price.

    Ariston MicroGenius 27 DHW Problem

Many thanks for the quick reply Chris. Excuse my ignorance but would the HEX be the primary or secondary or I'm I barking up the wrong tree. Going back to the the powerflush issue, is it worth it in your opinion?

    Ariston MicroGenius 27 DHW Problem

Hi Guys I've been having problems with the DHW which fluctuates between hot and warm. A British Gas contractor came round yesterday to look at the boiler and without opening it at all diagnosed a sludge problem and would benefit from a 'powerflush' or possibly a new boiler due to cost of...

    Warped Window Cill

Thanks for the prompt reply :) The frame seems to be OK it's just that the cill is the problem. I've noticed that the cill is in 3 sections due to the shape of the window so I should be able to undo the screws that are visible when I open one of the windows (it's only a short section of about...

    Warped Window Cill

Hi At present I have Everest aluminium double glazing installed with a hardwood surround, I guess it was fitted around 20 years ago just before I moved in. I have now noticed that the external cill of one of the windows has become badly warped which is trapping rainwater against the frame...

    Cistern Overflow Pipe

Hi I've just replaced the syphon in my cistern with a 'flapper' alternative (which incorporates an internal overflow) therefore my old bottom fed overflow pipe is no longer needed. If I remove the old overflow what can I use to plug the hole in the bottom of the cistern that's left behind...

    CH Boiler Pressure

Cheers Breezer I had thoughts along a similar lines actually as I remember when it was installed it was set to 1 bar it eventually went down to 0.7 bar and I left it for ages and it seemed happy enough. Being my first year with this installation maybe a touch of paranoia set in :D...

    CH Boiler Pressure

Hi I have an Ariston MicroGenius combi boiler thats serves 4 radiators and is connected together using 'Speedfit' fittings. The system is pressured to 1 bar and after about 2 months this drops to around 0.7 bar, is this drop in pressure normal or is there a possibilty of a leak somewhere...
