Lights flickering - to much power??

The fitting in question is downstairs and is controlled by either of 2 light switches in the room. Just standard ones. We do have a dimmer in one of the bedrooms. Total wattage just for the light fitting or all the rooms??

Lights flickering - to much power??

Have a sort of similar light fitting to this, except each buld is a smal 12v g4 that holds around 10 bulbs... If all 10 are in it is actually not as bright and sometimes the lights flicker when turned on or will not turn on at all. If i take 4 bulbs out. Everything works fine. Is there...

engineered oak flooring recomendations and advice please

Hi Daylight. Sorry for bringing up old thread but I'm wondering what style this V4 is. I'm looking at a new floor and being drawn to the V4 range. This looks exactly what I'm after.

    Interior window sealant cracked

Moved into new house and the windows were horrible. Cleaned and scraped all the old sealant off and applied new internal frame sealant ready for painting. No shrinkage etc from geocel. However one month later it's cracked again. Is there anything else I can do? Better frame sealant...

    From open plan garden ideas?

Thanks. Just out of curiosity does this include decking. Moved to new house with decking directly under the sill of French doors. In two minds whether to also get rid of it and redo.

    From open plan garden ideas?

Moved into new house and the front and side garden is open plan as in it just flows into the road with block paving separating them. No fence etc. We have big bushed under the front window and to the side which blocks out the light. We also have a couple of manhole covers in the garden too...

    Choosing the right radiator

Thanks. He is fitting new doors for me as he has his own building company. Said he they would do the radiator at no extra cost for what I'm paying for the doors. Therefore not sure if he just meant swapping like for like or all the alterations in between. The wall should be solid. External...

    Choosing the right radiator

Thanks. Next question. As the radiator will be thicker, the pipes will need to be extended. Also adjusted for the valves to fit the radiator. Easy enough for a plumber but there is no room for manoeuvre with existing pipes. Will some of the plaster need to come off for the pipes to be...

    Choosing the right radiator

Currently have a single convector vertical radiator in the dining room but the room is still cold. Using a heating calculator i need around 4500 btu. As its a vertical these tend to be quite a bit more expensive. Ive had a quote off a friend of a friend and he says they will install a new...

    Interior window sealant?

New house, new draughts. Most of the windows (upvc) either have no sealant around the interior. The wall is just plastered up to the frame. Or some sort of acrylic sealant/caulk has been used that looks a mess and has cracked. I plan on stripping the sealant and redoing. What's...

    Condensation and general loft questions

Thanks for the reply. No wet washing however we do have a condenser dryer on most days in the utility room. Door kept closed, window open. No other window open apart from bathroom as the house is quite cold and draughty once heating goes off. In the process of identifying draught...

    Condensation and general loft questions

Been in our new house for 4 weeks now. Couple weeks ago I went into loft to fix the TV aerial. I found lots of condensation on the roof felt. Went up again week ago and noticed it wasn't as bad. I thinking or rather hoping it is because of the warm air circulating since we moved in as the...
