Is there a difference with trade paint

I went to a local cdown trade shop today for some bits and bobs and ive noticed a few times crown, along with other manufacturers, do a trade paint. Is there a difference? I notice the stuff is a LOT more expensive than the gear you get at the sheds although some do sell trade as well.

Guess the easy answer is to sell house, move and let new owner worry about it :D

    Rendering cost per Sqm

Dazzler, Don't want to sound funny but i think you need another spread (with more experience) to give you a lift. Rendering and achieving a good level finish is a lot harder than bonding out or skimming a few internal walls. you should be able to put scratch on in one day although you can...

    Knotting

Cheers guy's I will pop down to the local dulux trade centre and see if they do the zinnser or the white stytic knotting. I previously have always used oil based paints but i used water based last time i decorated. It seems to stay whiter longer, or is it just me thinking it does :)

    Knotting

I re-plastered my house recently and thought i would change the skirtings at the same time. Now NOT being a painter & decorator and my daughter suffering from asthma i thought i would use crown water based paints (both undercoat and topcoat) Now after 6 months or so, you can see the knots...

    garage walls..insulation options? thermalite?

It has a better U value in the fact that you can use lets say 2" kingspan, xtratherm, celotex or whatever else you finally get, and that will give you the same value as a 4" total fill. If you do go down the kingspan path, then you must ensure it is tight up against the inner skin of brick...

    Soundproofing Help If Needed

Question: How to hide cables ? I recently decorated a room then the wife decided to mount a 42" lcd ( that sounds dirty doesn't it) maybe i should re fraise that :D Hanging wasn't a problem but there was no way i was going to hack off the plaster and new wall paper. Is there a way to...

    garage walls..insulation options? thermalite?

if you can get them in your neck of the woods then Tarmac toplite are worth taking a look at. They are also aerated blocks but are far more denser than thermolite and will take fixings without dropping to bits.

    Conservatory foundation dilemma

you can simply use the handle of a saw to mark the 45 degree cut. the great thing about trench blocks is that you can cut them with a saw :) nothing difficult about it

    Conservatory foundation dilemma

You could lay a 200mm strip foundation and then come up from that just bellow the finished level with trench blocks not concrete blocks. Simple to use, builds inner and outer skin so to speak in one go and doesnt need the lean mix infill. Just a thought and what i have done in the past.

slipped tile, bird has made nest in roof

I did a job a few weeks ago. I found lots of OLD birds nests and one live squirrels nest. The mother ran across my face and frightened the life out of me. I removed the fascia board and found 3 baby squirrels (they were ready for leaving the nest) I rang the RSPCA for advise. They told me if...
