Which of These Products For Waterproofing Ply Under Felt?

OK cool. Is there any downside to applying SBR under roof primer though? And is roof primer waterproof in itself (just in case the felt doesn't do the job)?

Ain't nobody got time for 3mm expansion gaps and drip trims!

Which of These Products For Waterproofing Ply Under Felt?

I'm doing the sides of my poly-carbonate veranda with ply. So far I: Run exterior wood glue around the edges of the ply wood. Painted the under side with Ronseal wood treatment and exterior stain/varnish. Now I gotta do the top side which is going to be felted (just one layer of mineral felt...

Just Got A CCTV System Not Sure About The Quality?

Yeah I tried the night vision yesterday and it looks good inside but outside is meh. The LEDs were glowing red as well which I thought was weird since the whole point of night vision is to see but not be seen at night? Looking at youtube footage clips it seems only the 3mp - 4mp cameras...

Just Got A CCTV System Not Sure About The Quality?

OK I found out NVR display resolution wasn't at 1080p so I increased it and now get this: Is this considered good quality for CCTV? Bear in mind I paid £288 for this system without an hard drive.

Just Got A CCTV System Not Sure About The Quality?

It wasn't cheap though. Hikvision NVR review: "Good features but unfortunately far too noisy (loud fan on side) to be in the house. Will revert to storing video on the Hikvision camera internal SD card instead. Shame." Looks like they have the same problem with noise.

Just Got A CCTV System Not Sure About The Quality?

Annke 1080p POE 4 camera system from eBay/Amazon. Just set it up to test and it seems very primitive despite it being a newer model? The software is very primitive looking - like something from 10 years ago. The camera quality looks over-sharpened and there is no setting to turn the sharpness...

What Waterproof Screws To Use For Poly Roof [Pic]?

I found a pack of clear caps with screws laying about and used them through the glazing bars. They don't actually look that bad but might get black ones to replace them down the line. The ones foxhole posted go through the actual poly-carbonate sheets - will only use them if I find the panels...

What Waterproof Screws To Use For Poly Roof [Pic]?

My end-caps don't have screws like that image - they just push into place for aesthetic reasons but provide no structural advantages. Admittedly I need to climb onto the roof and give the glazing bars a good thump down but first I wanna screw them in place at the bottom. Really don't wanna be...

What Waterproof Screws To Use For Poly Roof [Pic]?

Built this veranda a couple months ago but the roof keeps sliding down very slowly over time so I have to keep bumping it back up: I want to put screws in through the actual glazing bars right at the bottom to hold the poly-carbonate sheets in place but need these screws to be waterproof and...

How Do I Remove & Rotate This Gas Lever?

Gas leaver sticking out in "bad" direction, is it possible to remove and rotate it 90 degrees so the off position is up and the on position is towards the wall? Currently in off position. Thanks.

LED Dimmer, for 16mm back box

One of the 3 I did was in a tiled kitchen wall - took under an hour without damaging the tiles at all. All you gotta do is drill loads of holes to the required depth (if it's a brick/block wall) then chisel what's left. Making sure you don't damage the switch lines of course.

    New socket spur, different room?

Shouldn't matter where the socket/spur positions are so long as they're in safe zones.

LED Dimmer, for 16mm back box

Get a deeper back box? I had to do this 3 times in my house to fit dimmers and it's not that hard. Alternative is surface mounted pattress boxes which are ugly.

    Does this look right?

How Do I Twist This Annoying Valve Out The Way?

Some idiot council plumber guy years ago decided it would be a good idea to allow a single stock-cock to establish dominance over at least 180mm of territory originally belonging to a fridge: Seeing as this is the water feed into the house, how do I twist it out the way (counter-clockwise...

Kitchen Units Against Uneven Wall [Pic]

OK pushed my kitchen units against the wall and there is a gap as the wall in uneven vertically as well as horizontally: Assuming my worktop will be 620mm and the kitchen units are 600mm (605mm if you factor in the gap): What is the best course of action to get a straight row of units...

    Help Choosing Worktop Colour! [Pic]

I looked at real wood and the max is 4m. I think I need 4.2 for the long length. Would total £335 for Sapele includiing 2m sink piece if I picked the 4m and shortened the units. Can't sink the pipes... owned by national grid. I looked into it a month ago and the only option really is to have...

    Help Choosing Worktop Colour! [Pic]

Services will be boxed & tiled. Already got a plan. Gas meter moved up by EDF, custom build wall units to cover the meters... then boxed and tiled pipes. Lots of people seem to be against the marble and recommend wood/wood effect. Anything other than laminate is out of budget and as I'm...
