Dimension of towel rad to replace panel rad?

Would just have the towel rad. Bathroom is very small (about 6' x 7') Appreciate what you are saying about towels taking the heat away but would just have a small hand towel there most of the time unless my girls are here at the weekend as I live alone and use the on-suite all the time.

Dimension of towel rad to replace panel rad?

Looking to replace a panel rad in the bathroom with a towel rad. Can work out the btu ok but unsure about the width I need. Existing pipes as they come out the wall are at 560mm centres and the distance between the valves fitted to the pipes (rad removed) is 520mm. I suspect I need a 550mm wide...

Securing basin pedestal and toilet through laminate floor?

Strangely enough I had thought about doing that just before I read your post. That sounds a better way of doing it. Cheers

Securing basin pedestal and toilet through laminate floor?

Ah right. So install the floor, set the pan in place and draw around with a pencil. Remove that section of flooring and cut around about 1/4" or so inside the line. Refit the floor and bed the pan in clear sanitary sealant. The screws holding the pan will now go straight into the floor, missing...

Securing basin pedestal and toilet through laminate floor?

Not screwing it all down, just into the last board. Got to secure the toilet and basin pedestal somehow. Laminate is 8mm thick. Could I secure into that without going through to the floor boards if I bedded the pedestal etc in silicone?

    cold calling

Any time I get a call like that (it happens quite often) I say "can you hang on a minute please" and just put the phone down for about 30 secs then pick it up again and say "back in a minute" etc etc.

    Dispute with builder

Had much the same happen to me some years ago. Was having a conservatory build by a local respected company who decided to use my new garden bench as a saw bench and put 3 deep cuts into the arm. I called into the showroom the next morning and when asked if everything was ok I asked the boss...

    Tiling top of window recess.

Don't know what I was bothered about. Did the job last night and the tiles stuck like sh*t to a shovel. Got some bull nose upvc to use for the window sill instead of tiling that. Will save the grout from getting grotty with things being laid on it.

    Grout going off too quickly.

Never used powdered before but on the advice of Richard C , tictic etc have done so this time. Using Mapei Buildfix flexible wall and floor grout. Instructions say 0.65 litre of water for a 2.5 kg bag and proportionately less for smaller quantity. I don't work fast so measured out 700g of...

    Cove mitre tools

Need a mitre tool for coving. Just a cheap one as it won't see much use. Are the hand held ones from Wickes (£3.09) suitable for any type of coving or just the Wickes stuff? I have bought Pro Cove lite from Toolstation whick looks pretty good. Cheers.

Building out coving to cover tiling.

In reply to the two previous posts: I don't want to lose the bottom profile of the coving which is what would happen if I fitted the coving and tiled up to it. So I want to build the coving out so the top tile will slip underneath it. Will the adhesive stick to a glazed ceramic tile? Thats...

Building out coving to cover tiling.

Don't know why not other than some years ago a very very good plasterer told me that was the way to do it if you wanted to keep the bottom edge of the coving visible.

Building out coving to cover tiling.

Due to a variety of circumstances when tiling the bathroom I have been left with about a 3" cut to finish at the ceiling. As this will look sh*t I have decided to fit coving, suitably built out so the top full tile will slip underneath and therefore not lose the bottom edge of the coving. The...

What size towel rad do I need?

Currently tiling the bathrom and fitting a new suite. It is very small, 1.8M x 1.7M. Radiator is 49cm x 60cm and is a single. What would be the min size of towel rad for that room. Thanks.

Mosaic. How do you do them?

I am only taking about 3mm off. Angle grinder is working ok provided I take my time and don't use much pressure.
