Removing gas fireplace, what to replace with?

Have this ugly 90s gas fireplace which we only used once many years ago, I assume removing it wouldn't deter potential buyers should it come to selling the house. I want to block the chimney to avoid draughts and dust/bird droppings but am hesitant to do so while there is still a live gas...

    Earth cable for bathroom radiator

Thanks. Is it how it is normally done, I don't recall seeing such clamps in other people's bathrooms or on Rightmove pictures? Also, is it definitely needed, this cable is most likely from previous radiator installation? The idea of having sharp metal edges on ankle level in the bathroom...

    Earth cable for bathroom radiator

Plumber left it like this and is not available now. How do I attach it correctly and make the whole thing look nicer, painting copper pipes is not recommended as I understand?

What kind of outbuilding/extension would work here ?

Also, if going contractor route, should I be considering SIP panels or the job would be too small to find anyone willing to take it ?

What kind of outbuilding/extension would work here ?

Thanks, would I need a planning permission for something like this given it is next to the neighbour's fence (few inches gap) if keeping below 2.5m height? Not planning to remove if moving

What kind of outbuilding/extension would work here ?

Need a (partly) insulated room as an extension at the back of a link-attached single garage. The area is currently covered with not very even garden tiles (ants and old hedge roots are to blame). No building DIY skills. Does not have to be same temperature as the house, just protected from the...

Is it a leak where meter is ?

Last several days dry sunny weather, this pool of water shouldn't be there ? Meter was changed recently, but I never paid attention to that spot as it was raining every day before. When I open the lid the water level is 1 inch under the top, there is some white plastic box in the middle...

    Loft condensation (measures taken)

Yes, trying to sort it out after work, will try to get a better picture over the weekend. Any idea about those gable (or whatever it is called - triangle brick structures above windows) sections, is it it supposed to have any vents there ? Being double it takes most of the front and the beams...

    Loft condensation (measures taken)

Wouldn't use open fire even with all that humidity, but I do vape, will try. What creates draught if there is no wind, pressure is the same ?

How do I measure if it is good ? Should there be any draught if there is no wind outside?

    Loft condensation (measures taken)

There are maybe 5-6 small holes, and this didn't change over last 10+ years as well as rock wool insulation .. had no condensation issues before

    Loft condensation (measures taken)

Eave gaps are on the 3rd picture and loft hatch is now sealed (2nd paragraph). Bathroom is ventilated by opening window after shower/bath Should be some tv aeriel / lighting holes which are covered by insulation. Some small holes that led to the old water tank in the loft, now obsolete.

    Loft condensation (measures taken)

Hi all, ~30yo detached house Loft insulation topped up from 100 to 270 about 10 years ago. Central part is boarded, sides are not. Had no problems with condensation until last couple of years. The only variable that changed, I think, is amount of junk stored there (lots of boxes) When recent...

Salus RT500BC receiver not working in either mode - no heating

Update, bled some radiators upstairs yesterday (a couple had some air) didn't make any difference - still only heated for 5 min after off/on. Left it on Auto all night, was still freezing in the morning. Then switched to Manual and it miraculously heated the house for few hours. Switched to...

Salus RT500BC receiver not working in either mode - no heating

Had boiler off and batteries out of control unit for 1 hr. Turned boiler back on with Manual mode selected - heating started working straight away, though only lasted for 5 minutes, then went to stand by and started clicking (every 3 sec followed by 3 red lights) in both receiver modes now. Sync...

Salus RT500BC receiver not working in either mode - no heating

Not for 30 min, for around 5 min and using good new batteries. I think it might actually be linking (no green light but it clicks and red light flashes when flame icon appears on control unit) but relay is failing since also not working in manual mode. I can't find a single video of how to put...

Salus RT500BC receiver not working in either mode - no heating

Any ideas ? If it looks like receiver is definitely gone, what would be the most reliable replacement compatible with this boiler ? Would get one from Amazon already so have the option to replace when engineer comes.

hi all, The receiver sits on Ideal Logic 30 boiler. Have hot water, no heating (wasn't used since Spring) Auto mode - tried all the tricks found on this forum, new batteries, frequency change, power off, distance, resets - have fire trigger on control module, no light on receiver, no heating...
