Hi, I have build an MDF plith for my shower tray to sit on. I want to seal the MDf just incase there are any water leaks in the future but it needs to be something that will still allow me to paint the surface. Any ideas? Thanks in advance... Tom

Yeah i believe it is still live. I only say that because it has to wires going in so must be part of the ring (is that correct?). As i understand it i need to get an electrician in to do the job as its in the bathroom but i need a rough idea of what he'll do so i can prepare the area.... Cheers

I really doubt it would be coming through the wall. Is there an air brick or something near by? I'd be having words with him as its considered socially unacceptable to let that happen. I dunno what to say about him perving at you......erm.....curtains??

Is it possible that if you cant read the meter then they havent read it correctly also?

Yeah, worth a try mate. It made a huge difference with me even though there was only the slightest of downward movement when weight was applied. I suppose it only take the smallest of movements to produce a gap though. Good luck....

I have used nails on my walls and did plan to when i do the ceiling. I will use screws now for the ceiling having read that but shall i go back over the walls with screws too?

Hi chaps, I read in a thread earlier that platerboard can have a limit to the weight of tiles fixed to it. I have a plasterboard wall of 9mm that i want to tile. Does anybody know what the weight limit for this is or how i find out? Cheers Tom

I had the same problem. When i applied silicon i didnt weigh down the shower tray so that when i stepped in the shower i just broke the seal. Did you weight the tray down when the silicon was applied?

I've put mine on a wooden floor and somebody recommended tile adhesive for wooden floors. Dont know if thats anygood. I used silicon

Just a quick one chaps, I'm getting stuck into my bathroom now and noticed that the previous owner has earth bonded the pipes etc. They have used 6mm cable, i was under the impresssion in had to be 4mm. Does it need replacing or is it ok as it is? Cheers Tom

Your old extractor would have been connected to a switched live and a permanent live. The permanant live powers the fan when the switch is turned off for certain amount of time. Since your new fan doesnt have a timer and is staying on all the time its probably that you have connected it to the...
