Leonard 722 Thermostatic Shower - No Temp Control

Thanks very much for your replies guys, It gives good peace of mind that these parts are still available. I too think that this is a great shower, although 30 years old-ish, and if I could get it to work perfectly again, life will be sweet once more. I think that I will have a go at what you...

Leonard 722 Thermostatic Shower - No Temp Control

We have a Leonard 722 thermostatic shower which runs from the Worcester combi boiler. I understand that Leonard were taken over by Mira in the late 70's? and that this shower then became the Mira 722. So obviously, if that's the case, mine is a good few years old. We've used it for about 13...

    Outdoor Socket - Flying Earth

That's the exact reason. It's worked out well, as it passes through a porch, so the FCU is in the porch, switching off the socket to the outside. Thanks very much.

    Outdoor Socket - Flying Earth

    1. Well, no, it would not have been cheaper to get an electrician, as it's part of other jobs too. 2. The FCU, is also inside (within a porch) so the outside socket can be turned off to avoid the unlikely event of anyone stealing the electric. 3. That's just as I thought, thanks for the...

    Outdoor Socket - Flying Earth

I'm fitting an outdoor socket (has been notified) running a spur from an indoor socket on the ring, with an FCU inbetween. The outdoor socket is an MK Masterseal one, all plastic. Someone told me that you should always connect a flying earth from the earth terminal on the socket to the earth...

Where Can I Get One Of These From - Off Kitchen Sink - Pic

Thanks very much for your replies. No, it's just scratched on the drain, it's not cracked. The only damage is the screw itself. Ideally I just want to buy another screw the same size, in white, or metal, and I don't mind having to buy a drain 'kit' just to get the screw and I'll save the...

Where Can I Get One Of These From - Off Kitchen Sink - Pic

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to get one of these from, in the pic. It's the centre screw from my Astracast kitchen sink, the head has snapped off, and obviously the drain fitting is loose. The diameter is about 11mm it seems. Even a metal one would do, if it fits, if I can't get...

    inline extractor fan

That sure is a beast you'll have there! Definitely leave the fan on longer then, if you think it's condensation. If you don't, the fan stops whilst leaving loads of vapour within the ducting, which then pools. Leaving it on for longer after the vapour has left the room, dries it out totally.

    inline extractor fan

I'm unsure about a more powerful fan, but as regards to the water you've found, if it's a sizeable amount I think it's unlikely to be condensation. Could it be rainwater coming in from the ducting outlet? Also, leaving the fan to overrun longer will clear condensation forming if you think it is...

Wired Doorbell Chime With Wireless Button

Yes, looks like I could be putting the wired doorbell back up. Either that or go to the trouble of taking the wiring/transformer/chime out and getting a standard wireless one. Seems such a waste though, as some electrician has gone to a great deal of trouble to put that in (for the previous...

Wired Doorbell Chime With Wireless Button

I have made some enquiries with Friedland and they tell me that a wired chime with wireless button does not exist. But, like you say, some of the Friedland wireless chimes can be mains wired as an alternative, so they're wrong there. That coventer you mention is the opposite of what I need...

Wired Doorbell Chime With Wireless Button

Thanks for your reply. Is what you describe one of those plug in chimes though. As what I am after is a mains wired-in chime, but with a wireless button.

Wired Doorbell Chime With Wireless Button

Thanks for your reply. The problem with that is, I would have to remove all of the existing wiring, as I wouldn't just leave it there, which might leave some mess but most of all seems a little pointless when all I could do (hopefully) is simply remove the old chime and replace with a...

Wired Doorbell Chime With Wireless Button

Thanks for your reply. There is no brickwork, never has been, there's nowhere to mount the button except for on the PVC frames.

Wired Doorbell Chime With Wireless Button

I currently have a wired doorbell and chime which is connected via a transformer straight into the consumer unit. We've just had new windows, PVC, and it's such a good job that I'm loathed to drill through the frame to re-fit the button and cable. Is there such a beast as a wired doorbell chime...

    Business Practice/Payments/Deposits, Etc.

That took you a while. Been looking up the word amortise have you? You're just gonna say the next person down the line will pay for it, but it's not ME is it!!!!!!! No, your posts are far from error free, as you'll see from my corrections which you continue to err...'fail' to read...

    Business Practice/Payments/Deposits, Etc.

That'a just a silly thing to say, quite typical of your posts, mind you. I don't pay for quotes. Said that already. Don't know anyone that does. I think you're trying to get at the fact that it all gets amortised in job costs. If I get a quote for a new roof. And I don't get a new roof...
