Column radiator flow and return wrong way around

Just checked the rads after 30 mins of heating up and they’ve heated evenly. Maybe there are no baffles in these ones, seems odd though as the inlet and outlet are specifically labelled.

Column radiator flow and return wrong way around

No not upside down! Back to front so the rad inlet meets the flow pipe rather than the return. Edited my first post so it’s clearer!

Column radiator flow and return wrong way around

Hope someone can help. I’ve just fitted three new column rads onto an existing system replacing some old rads. I haven’t been able to identify flow and return pipes because everything is boxed in and plastered over. Old rads didn’t hold any clues, no TRVs fitted. Long story short, two of the...

Why would you use the full sheets over the T&G?

Poll - What’s your preferred material for subfloor?

Really interested in your thoughts on the best subfloor to go in bedrooms/hallways/landings on upper floors over the top of joists. Finished floor will be carpet over the top. There are so many opinions and preferences on this one so thought I’d go with the majority! I’m assuming 18mm...

    BT Extension Socket Wiring

I will do exactly that tomorrow once it’s light (property is being refurbed currently). Will post back with clearer photos. Thanks @rsgaz and @AndyPRK

    BT Extension Socket Wiring

...I should add, the top box had the faceplate in place but I pulled it out to expose the inside. The faceplate had no wires connected to it.

    BT Extension Socket Wiring

Right, property is a former split commercial and resi so could have two lines. If I trace the wire back from the socket pictured above I find this: The bottom box has two cables going in, one from what I assumed is a slave in my original post and the other cable going outside. I’m confused...

    BT Extension Socket Wiring

Hmmm... just done some Googling, I wonder if this is indeed a Master socket on a second phone line given your comments above. I’ve always assumed it’s an extension as the cable goes off upstairs to another Master socket and then out and up to the roof. Perhaps there are two lines and this isn’t...

    BT Extension Socket Wiring

That is the extension socket I’m showing you so these wires are incoming from the master. Why, what’s up with it?!

    BT Extension Socket Wiring

Hope someone can help. I’ve got an intermittent issue with our BT Home Hub posing internet connection a few time’s each day. Could well be the modem itself but thought I’d check wiring first. Is this the correct wiring for an extension socket? Note the orange/white and white/orange wires are...

Unauthorised engineering operations on a PD

My reply was a little tongue-in-cheek but I hope you took it the right way. Most people are scared of receiving letters with official stamps at the top or quiver at the thought of hearing from Her Majesty’s servants. Please don’t think for a second that these people are infallible or operating...

Right then, I’m going to be quite harsh with you here but it’s for your own good and I really hope you listen, take it onboard and follow my advice. I am 100% on your side here and I’ll be the first to help you write a letter or send you £50 towards a solicitor. In life you will encounter all...

Draft behind plasterboard in new extension

Knauf states 4.6m2 coverage per 25kg bag... as someone who has never fixed with the dot and dab method, how many boards would a bag fix if applying as you have above?

Which levelling compound to use & DIYable?

Hi all, Two questions... I have an open plan lounge dining area of 60m2 with a terribly uneven floor. It’s generally level but has dips, holes and ramps all over the place with low points of maximum 20mm. It’s a mixture of tile, vinyl and concrete. The finished floor will be floated...
