    Vaillant Ecotec Plus 937 problem

Is resetting the boiler something we can carry out? I can't access the user manual right now as I'm away from home and will have to relay instructions to the missus.

    Vaillant Ecotec Plus 937 problem

Thanks for the reply Agile but I disagree - I have asked specific questions in my last post that I was unable to find answers for: What does Error Code F81 mean? Why was the PCB diagnosed as the culprit originally? Have the "new" PCBs resolved the known issue? Is there an ongoing...

    Vaillant Ecotec Plus 937 problem

Our Ecotec 937 has stopped working this morning. Error Code f81. It was installed and commissioned approx 8 months ago and has been working fine. The installer filled out the required details and signed off the installation. This morning we had no hot water and on checking the boiler noted...

Vaillant EcoTec Plus 831 - Heating controls recommendation?

Thanks for the explanation. Surely on a "warmer" winter's day though the room stat would reach temp quicker and shut the heating off anyway. Not meaning to hijack the thread but is WC likely to save much dosh during real world use? Our example is a 4 bed large(ish) edwardian semi

Vaillant EcoTec Plus 831 - Heating controls recommendation?

Sorry for being thick here but I don't quite understand "weather compensation". Could somebody explain why it's better than a conventional programmable control? A conventional control measures the ambient temp around where it's placed and controls the boiler according to the settings the user...

Imperial Bathrooms - Poor Products Poor Service

We actually quoted that opening line in our letter to the MD but he seems lost for words in the reality away from la-la glossy brochure-land

Imperial Bathrooms - Poor Products Poor Service

We recently renewed the bathroom in our Edwardian semi. Imperial Bathrooms have some stylish tradititional ranges and market themselves as an upmarket manufacturer. Unfortunately our experience with them has been very disappointing. Even writing to their MD directly by recorded delivery has...

    tanking a shower

Thanks for the reassurance. A previous builder used plasterboard unfortunately. If I was doing the job again I would have asked for aquaboard but I didn't consider it initially and the old builder didn't offer it as an option! Ahh well - another snippet of DIY wisdom learnt post-job!

    tanking a shower

We are having a corner shower fitted. Walls are plasterboard. Plumber has tanked & taped the 2 walls and shower tray to a height of 1m. He says this is sufficient. I've looked at the BAL application notes etc and can't find out whether tanking should go up to the shower head or not. Do the...

Sticking with conventional vented CH / HW system

Thanks for that advice. I've done a bit of looking around at that boiler and I like the wireless control integration and seems to have plenty of venting flexibility. I'm thinking of putting it in the cellar so that's useful. I take it there are not so many options for Hot Water Cylinders then...

Sticking with conventional vented CH / HW system

A lot of folks on this forum are debating the pros/cons of unvented / combi systems. We have a 20 yr old conventional vented system in our 4 bed semi that needs a serious upgrading but like a lot of older properties (ours is a 100 yrs old) we have c**p flow rates / pressure. I realise we can...
