We are having a corner shower fitted. Walls are plasterboard. Plumber has tanked & taped the 2 walls and shower tray to a height of 1m. He says this is sufficient. I've looked at the BAL application notes etc and can't find out whether tanking should go up to the shower head or not.

Do the experts on this forum think tanking to 1m is ok? We will be tiling over this next.

tanking doesn't need to go to showerhead mixer valve is enough.
but 1m will be ok.
has he used aqua panel or plasterboard ?

Thanks for the reassurance.

A previous builder used plasterboard unfortunately. If I was doing the job again I would have asked for aquaboard but I didn't consider it initially and the old builder didn't offer it as an option! Ahh well - another snippet of DIY wisdom learnt post-job!
