Hi Guys, I have a Worcester / Danesmoor non-condensing 15/19 oil boiler. Over a period of two days the pressure drops from 1.5 to 0 bar The leak is under the boiler, all entry pipes and PRV are dry making me think it's a heat exchanger problem - look at prices they are £ 600 ish ( ouch ! )...

OK brain now fully engaged :) The PRV ( while the manual states internal ) is actually 6 inches above the boiler venting through the garage wall and is dry as a bone. So the leak must be inside the boiler - but only leaking when heating charges to 1.5 bar , if left at 0.75 it will not leak...

Sounds to easy ! Unscrewing the nut will make the fitting comming off turn in the pipe presumably ? What about re-assembly , use something like Hylomar Universal Blue Gasket Sealant ?

I have a closed loop central heating system , usually pressurized to about 1.5 bar When I go away next month could I drain the hot and cold water tank and leave the heating ' ON ' with no issues ? I expect it would cause no problem as it's closed loop ?

Yep the neon is on but I would say ' dim ' if the shower is switched to on then neon goes off So this could be down to the pull cord switch ? it's quite old

Good question - not sure if the pump overrun is working need to check The pump however is making a horrific sound on start-up and quite noisy even after a few minutes...

No your probably right The existing lintel on the inside skin of the wall is concrete, i guess just box it out and plasterboard prior to skimming is the way forward...
