What work can I (legally) do

Thanks, So I was right not to fix the socket, or even take the plate off ;) Leave well alone sounds like a good plan to me. If I need to fabricate an extra long cable, or any other mains cable for that matter, what do I need to do in order for me to "install" that cable on site (residential...

What work can I (legally) do

Hi all, I work for myself offering IT support. I often do CAT5/6 cabling and if additional electrics are needed I advise that the customer needs an electrician to do the work. I was on a job last week and whilst under a desk plugging in my laptop, I noticed the socket spark, I took the front...

    What's the difference

Most can, depending on the versions of both works and word, when you come to save it it will give you a warning, just save as a word doc. Not sure about the other way about, or what versions it applies to.

    Cloning a MAC hard drive

Thanks for the info, I know ghost wouldnt recognise the file system but I've done sector by sector copies before with ghost and was assuming that might have worked, anyway, as it happens, the machine booted fine, all you have to do is copy a few folders over to a new drive, mark it as active and...

    Multimeters

I've had my fluke 73 for years and years, it doesnt do capacitance but I have no need for it so it serves me well. Its been dropped, clanged, banged, had mains put through it on just about every setting and still going strong. It was very expensive at the time as autorangers wernt that common...

Hi all, Have someone that has a failing HDD in a mac, currently running OS9. What I would like to do is ghost the drive. Now I know absolutely nothing about MAC's but I assume that if I took the failing drive out, put it in a normal pc and ghosted it onto a new drive, then assuming that ghost...

    Pointless tools

The idea itself is sound, but would have been better years ago in the early days of battery powered tools when keyless chucks wernt as common, as mentioned, takes a couple of seconds to change bit, and that tool looks cheap and nasty to me!
