Big blow on the way

Been pretty windy up here as well (Lancs) couple of roads closed, crap blowing all over the place, my fence come down again (one of those things you slot in between 2 concrete posts), no chance of fixing it till the wind dies down then I'll make sure if NEVER comes out again lol.
Giant sign on PCworld looked like it was ready to take off (had to go there because my supplier let me down and I needed a printer urgently for a customer) Got rather sea sick in my car whilst stuck in a jam, was rocking the car like mad.
Wheely bins go out tomorrow, no chips in them but wouldnt be a problem if there was, I can see there being many still stood up and full by the time the bin men come lol, if it were up to me all the dossers from the scabby estates would be out cleaning it up with toothbrushes.

Gcol you have such a short memory ! I'm just outside Blackburn - same place I was when you sent methose irwin bits !

Changes ??
From Guardian archives Monday February 2, 1953

...-York: At York Minster, when the gale reached 100 miles an hour, the top half of a pinnacle, weighing a ton, crashed into the roadway...
Almost deja vu - all over again !
:D

But now they try to frighten us by claiming it caused by global warming this time. While A. Blair and family says its ok, you can fly as much as you like. So who's telling the truth?

Theyls blame it on anything but the weather, global warming, waste disposal, recycliny, car fumes, no doubt they'll start having "wind tax" soon.

Arrggghhhh!!! that means I'll get taxed to the hilt. oops!! that's another tax increase........

It's been a nice day in the North East, blue sky's a bit on the cold side but better than the rest of the UK so it looks, mind you it says next week is going to be bad.

Well the fence panel between ours and next door came out again, next door put it back in the last few ttime so I thought I better had.
I wish I hadnt in a way, got fence done in 2 minutes, turned round to see the top of one of my shed stood up against the wall sort of wedged between the wall and fence - behind the fence is mine and the mrs cars..
So I put the top back on which was previously held on by ONE thin screw on each wall (not built by me!) and now has about 15 on each - bit OTT but never mind. Thought I'd best check the other shed, roof was loose so I went into the shed, oh GREAT, there was daylight from above! There was no felt at all over the apex. So off to locak diy shop, sold out! Managed to get some and spent a happy afternoon on top of the shed in the rain and wind putting some felt on, I didnt glue it, just nailed it with that many clout nails that theres now almost as much metal as there is wood !

I believe the M6 was closed for a time in Lancashire too.

Yup, around J33.

Also J20. I was coming back from B'rum that day. Got caught in huge t-backs so got off at 16 and went up the A500/A34. Trouble was, everybody else had that idea!

The 34 was strewn with fallen trees, and when I got near Astra Zenica, the street lights were down, along with the T-lights and the Little Chef was in pitch darkness!

Imagine if you've driven 300 miles through a storm, you get to your LC & order your food, then the power goes off!!

In all, the journey from J9 M6 to home (Stockport) took 3 hours 20 instead of 1.5.
