Unvented cylinder not providing hot water to sinks, only showers

I closed the mains cold water feed and ran all taps until hot and cold water stopped, about 5mins. I then shut all the taps, opened the mains cold water feed and closed the balanced cold feed and ran cold water only on all the taps and they all are running cold water and no signs of stopping...

Unvented cylinder not providing hot water to sinks, only showers

Ok I found and closed it. It's by the water softener and stops all the cold water in all the taps. This time the kitchen tap was hot and did not dip. I guess that would make sense as there's no cold water at all in any of the taps now, in the kitchen we have a filter type tap for just drinking...

Unvented cylinder not providing hot water to sinks, only showers

So after 3 months the issue has reappeared. The hot water to the sinks fluctuates from hot to cold. I still haven't replaced the 2 faulty taps (I know!) but the hot water was isolated. Thinking another tap elsewhere had the same issue I went around the house isolating all the sinks, both hot...

Unvented cylinder not providing hot water to sinks, only showers

Hi , I was just about to post an update. I've tracked the problem down to 2 faulty mixer taps (both Hansgrohe PuraVida of same vintage). I've isolated the hot water on those and we're back in service, will look to replace them in due course. Thanks all for your help.

Unvented cylinder not providing hot water to sinks, only showers

As the top pipe comes out it starts hot and is hot if you follow it along but then cools down and becomes cold as you head back so as if cold water is being pushed into the cylinder. I noticed this with the pipe to downstairs WC which is the nearest to the cylinder. I isolated the hot water...

Unvented cylinder not providing hot water to sinks, only showers

No idea, was fitted that way from the beginning. I recall the heating engineer saying he had separated the showers from everything else as it was beneficial, I can't recall why now.

Unvented cylinder not providing hot water to sinks, only showers

Hi, no the hot water for the sinks is definitively coming from that pipe at the top as I can feel the water rushing through.

Unvented cylinder not providing hot water to sinks, only showers

Hi there, hopefully someone can help figure out this issue we've been having for a few weeks now. The system is 13 years old and has been fine up until now, nothing has changed. We have a unvented cylinder as per pics, all the sinks in the house (kitchen, utility, wc, en-suite and master...

parapet wall with coping stones leak

Thanks all for the replies. We certainly wouldn't be looking to rebuild the wall and correcting the cavity tray, which I believe is present. Looks like our option is to lift all the stones, replace what insulation we can, put down slate and damp proof membrane on top and the stones over...

parapet wall with coping stones leak

Thanks for your replies. Pics can say a thousand words, I got up on the roof today. You can a plastic sheet we've put over the coping stopes weighed down with bricks to temporarily fix the leak during the winter. I believe the leak to be coming through the coping stones because placing the...

parapet wall with coping stones leak

Hi, We have a single storey extension which has a flat roof and parapet wall finished with coping stones. Rainwater is leaking into the room below from the coping stones. A builder lifted one stone and it seems the mortar between the damp proof and stone has weighed down the membrane...

Which 55kw boiler? Keston or Veissmann

Hi, require a boiler for new installation of a large property. Been recommended Keston and Veissmann. Had a look and the KESTON C55 and Vitodens 200-W fit the bill. What are opinions on both? Thanks in advance.

Opinions on these wet ufh components

Hi, looking at purchasing a kit on line and have been quoted for the following, what are opinions on the equipment provided? Is there anything specific I should confirm with them? • Multilayer pipe 16 x 2 mm – PE-rt/AL/PE-rt approved for 10 bar pressure and 95 degree C temperature • High...

mdf Vs softwood door linings / frames / casing

Hi, Firstly, don't know what the difference between door linings, frames and casing. /are they just different terms for the same thing? Have a block partition wall with a door opening. Need to install a door lining, which is the better of the 2 - softwood or mdf? Will be painting it...
