Use Texecom Elite outputs to control electric locks

So I bought this, cisa elettrika lock and the module for it to work on 12vDC, rather than 12vAC here And with some simple setup I got the lock working from the Outputs screen on my ios app. In wintex I set Panel Output 1 to PC Control using Pulse 1, which was set at 1 second. I also edited...

Texecom elite upgrade and new products

Thanks guys, as I thought. Will have a play at the weekend.

    External alarm cabling

Thanks. Its unshielded. Sounds like full metal conduit is best then to ensure no water gets in either. Will have to work out how to join from a metal conduit to a door loop to minimise exposure to the elements.

Texecom elite upgrade and new products

Looking to buy the flash module, and several sites show its only for 48 and above, but Texecom support site seems to show the 24 can be flash upgraded. I presume the vendor sites are incorrect and I can flash upgrade the 24?

Texecom elite upgrade and new products

Thanks. Yes the iOS app is normally pretty good for me, unless I try to connect and reconnect too quickly. I've disabled the port forwarding though and just connect via VPN for better network security. Means I don't get pop ups from the app but still get emails. Yes just looking at 3.04 for...

Texecom elite upgrade and new products

Hi, I see on Texecom's website they have some new products. although still no release date for Connect! Has anyone used the carbon monoxide sensor or the new mini wireless one? I have been looking for a zwave CO sensor for a while, but having it on the more reliable alarm would be better, and...

    External alarm cabling

Hi, I am fitting an electric gate lock to a wooden side gate that I will power the release from a Texecom output and as I am running a cable from alarm to the gate, I am going to also add an external door contact, probably using the same cable. When installing my external PIR I could drill...

Use Texecom Elite outputs to control electric locks

Perfect, thanks... I was reading the manual rather than opening up the panel and missed that one. So that makes it easy on the power side. I presume its straightfoward to trigger it to send a pulse when triggered. Is it possible to set it to hold power for a certain period, ie for 4 hours so...

Use Texecom Elite outputs to control electric locks

Hi, Pretty much as the title says. I have an Elite 24 which I think only has the digicom outputs (although would consider upgrading to the 48 if needed) and I would like to use the outputs to trigger an electric gate lock to open, most frequently by the Texecom iOS app so I can allow people...

Wired alarm that links to smart home

I have my texecom elite linked via serial to USB cable to my Vera automation hub so that the alarm states, set, disarmed can trigger smart home events and there motion sensors double as always on sensors for the smart home. Plus if someone breaks in I can have the Sonos come on full volume and...

House alarm which can be integrated?

Have a look at PLEG, which is the logic tool that does exactly what you are looking for in Vera. The Vera OS can actually be run on the Pi, doesn't need the hardware, but if you want to code it yourself as a fun project it might give you some ideas on how others have done it...

House alarm which can be integrated?

If you have always on voice control in your house then yes, your kids will use it. Voice recognition of individuals is a long way off. I think the only way to put something into the ceiling would be to have a mic there, running back to a Pi that does something clever. Alexa doesn't have a Pi...

House alarm which can be integrated?

Definitely not a programmer. Just been adding to it over the last year. The Vera has plugins for both Alexa and Siri which both run on a Pi. Siri lets you run scenes on your Vera, so you have a TV on and TV off scene, and say "Hey Siri, turn on lounge TV" or "Hey Siri, turn off kitchen...

House alarm which can be integrated?

@unclebob1 sounds like you do very similar to me. The Vera detects via the texecom that external doors are open for more than a minute and turns off the heating, turns it back on when closed. I use Heatmiser Neo, 12 zones, for my heating, so the Texecom/Vera setup provides overrides to the...

House alarm which can be integrated?

You could do that and more complex logic with a Vera for not much more cost than multiple Pis and probably a lot less coding effort. When I arm the Texecom Elite the Vera sees that and turns off my heating. If I stay up past the usual programmed heating off time, the motion sees me still up...

House alarm which can be integrated?

And for everyone reading this, keep in mind that using motion sensors from an alarm system linked to a home automation system wont work as fast as a dedicated zwave motion sensor. For instance my zwave motion sensors turn lights on in under a second, but the Texecom ones can take several...

House alarm which can be integrated?

The Premier Elite is different from the old Premier panels. Will see if I have a photo, the panel is well hidden now and hard to access since I have completed the wiring but it's just a simple texecom cable to USB plugged into one of the 2 outputs. The other had the comip on it. Am just a...

House alarm which can be integrated?

If you are going to the Vera Plus then I suggest the Texecom Elite. I use it and you just need a serial to USB cable plugged into the Vera to see all the motion sensors and use those as triggers in your automation, as well as the state of the alarm and changes in that. ie I turn off all lights...
