What would cause the burning on this plug?

Had a look at the socket and it looks ok jnside although it is quite old. Tried it with a lamp and it works fine but plugged another heater in and it trips out.

What would cause the burning on this plug?

In the room in the loft an oil filled radiator tripped out the RCD and had this burn mark on the plug. There is no damage elsewhere and the socket appears fine and functions as normal. Any ideas what the cause is from the burn mark? Is it the radiator, the plug or the socket or something else?

looking for triple Dry lining box

30mA RCD is integral to the consumer unit. I plan on fitting 6 of these 3 gang sockets in a single bedroom sized office - half above desk and half below desk. Not too bothered about building regs so long as not inherently unsafe. I plan on a demolishing the whole area and having a proper...

I want to use some triple sockets but can't find any 3way Appleby dry lining boxes. Is there such a thing or do I have to use a metal pattress box?

    Where to get gang nails.

I'm considering laying a floating wooden floor using standard floorboards. Instead of nailing them down I was thinking it may be possible to nail boards together using gang nails/strips on the underside but they seem quite hard to find? Is there a decent supplier for largeish quantities...

    Upturned parquet floor

Is it possible to lay reclaimed parquet blocks upside down and then sand/plane them to a quality finish? I'm not sure if the 'tar' would clog up the sander or if the underside of the blocks are the same quality of finish.

    Balancing radiators.

Great, thanks. That fits perfectly but just seems wrong, especially if you start with all the valves fully open by 3 turns or more!

    Balancing radiators.

I've just added 3 radiators to my system, about 12000 BTU total using about 40m of copper pipe. When balancing the existing radiators, firstly I found that they were all fully open but then I found that a mere quarter turn from closed heats them up adequately (don't have thermometer, just...

    Wiring floodlight into ring circuit

The new lighting circuit doesn't go anywhere near the flood lamp and the new circuit has enough on it already without a 500W floodlamp.

    Wiring floodlight into ring circuit

I currently have a switch connected to the lighting circuit (in garage) which passes the wire through the wall to the other side (left hand diagram). I want to move this flood lamp onto the 30A ring circuit and install a plug socket as the right hand diagram. The ring comes into the light...
