Clear Wires and No Usual Colour Indicators on Light Fitting

At this point I'm probably not going to try fitting this myself. Will see if an electrician can - that's if it's even suitable for use in the UK.

Clear Wires and No Usual Colour Indicators on Light Fitting

It came with two leaflets. I got it from Ebay from a UK seller that sells light fittings. This is also available from Wayfair UK. Seems to be branded Kichler then rebranded Elstead.

Clear Wires and No Usual Colour Indicators on Light Fitting

I don't have a multimeter and whilst I can do basic wiring and hang a light fitting, this seems a bit much so I'll have to get an electrician in. Hopefully an electrician can figure it out? If not, I'll send it back. Kichler is a well known brand. It was £200 so not that cheap. Surprised this...

Clear Wires and No Usual Colour Indicators on Light Fitting

Hi everyone, Hoping to get some advice please. Bought a brand new light fitting and the cables are unmarked. One obvious green and yellow Earth on the light fitting itself, but three other wires that are clear with 2 slight colour indicators. One appears to have a yellow thread running through...

As you can see there are 3 wires and one Earth wire attached to the metal of the light fitting itself. (First 2 pics) Brand new...

This is going to be a big problem isn't it?

Andy, you're right! That makes sense. Why did the plumber tell me that it was a massive job?! Thank you! That is a massive massive weight off of my shoulders.

This is going to be a big problem isn't it?

Thank you Nozzle! If I do ever need to change this tap, would enlarging that chipboard opening be ok? I seriously can't afford to rip out the granite and the sink.

This is going to be a big problem isn't it?

Here are some photos of the tap I have in my kitchen. Why the heck are the pipes sealed in?! I can't get underneath to check the connections and right now after having changed the ceramic cartridges, my tap base has become wobbly. I can't get underneath to tighten anything. A plumber previously...

No Earth Wire in New Fitting And Also

Yes the "new" fitting is second hand. Sorry I'm a rookie here. I know, that means I should probably get an electrician in but I was hoping it could be straightforward.

No Earth Wire in New Fitting And Also

Hi everyone, Wondering if anyone can help? I have no Earth wire in the new light fitting I'm trying to put up, which I suppose is fine because it must be double insulated? (It has the double square - please see photo with Maison sticker). I thought this would be an easy job, but there are a...
