    Uneven trench footing

Thanks for the reply guys. So, I took some proper measurements today, and basically, it's just one corner (~1.5m length on each side of problematic corner) that is quite elevated, and that is effecting the measurements for all the other sides. If I take out the problematic corner, then the...

    Uneven trench footing

Thanks for the reply. What mortar mix would you recommend? I was thinking a 1:3, but I could also use lime, although I don't have much experience with it. I was thinking of spreading the mortar out by around 75-100mm, on each side of the brick, and make the depth enough so that the brick work...

    Uneven trench footing

Thanks for the reply. Ah man, that sounds like a lot of work, and a huge PITA. If compression strength is the issue, can I not use a stronger mortar mix ?

    Uneven trench footing

Hi guys I had my trench pour a few weeks ago, and it went to plan, for the most part. I was checking how level the footing was with an optical level and there is an average variation of the footing by around ~4cm - but there is one section that dips by around 10cm. I did level it on the day...

    Concrete curing membrane products

Thanks - do you know of any distributers on the mainland? It's going to be bull floated, and then finished with a swimming pool trowel, and then the membrane sprayed. Are you sure?

No. I was looking on ebay, saw one going for 350, had it knocked down to 320 - came with a 12 month calibration cert too.

    Concrete curing membrane products

Hi guys, Anyone know where I can get a decent anti-evaporation/curing membrane to use once the concrete for my slab has been finished ? I won't be screeding, so I need a good strong finish on the slab, but for whatever reason I cannot find many curing membrane products out there. There is...

    Paving slabs with hard core

Hmm, did you try spacing the bricks out? and were they intact or already a little broken/jagged ? What's the rational behind hardcore anyway ?

    Paving slabs with hard core

Hi guys I am in the midst of a garage build, and I know that for hard core one should use rubble that is around >= 20mm. What about concrete paving slabs? I've got quite a lot intact ones (350mm x 350mm x 10mm) sitting around, and it'll be a bit of a waste if I have to dispose of them. I was...

    MFT

Thanks - I like the fluke too, but they are too expensive. The Kewtech is within reach - the cheapest I can get new is aroun £675, which is quite an eye-watering buy but it must be done.

    MFT

Hey guys I am planning on investing into my first multi-tester. I am thinking of getting a Kewtech KT65 MFT, but I would like to consider other options before finalising. Any other "better" brands out there?
