Yes, I think spray it off, vent the room, then dehumidifier. Happy to let the walls breathe. Dehumidifiers are another minefield, it turns out. A 50l compressor type is about 1/4 the price of a 45l desiccant one... But the compressor types are not recommended for cellars...

Thanks, not looking to spend a fortune here. It's just a workshop/storage area. The mould is the key worry.

Edit... Also need to remove some wood racking and tables from down there as it seems to encourage it.

Hi all, Damp and mouldy Victorian cellar here. It's penetrating damp. Not sure what a full tanking solution will cost, but in the meantime these are my thoughts... HG Algae & Mould Remover from Screwfix is an "outdoor" mould remover, but there are double doors to the outside under the bay...

The good... Fuses replaced. PIRs wired up and sensing / lighting up. The bad... Still can't set the alarm. Lots of short beeps.

Looking like I need a 500mA and a 1A fuse...

Thanks. Still not lighting up that way around, but no trip either now. Also have disconnected some of the other old PIRs, so that might be the issue. Have opened the main box to check fuses.(Battery backup disconnected). Will pull them one at a time and test them on the multimeter.

Hi, I'm replacing 3 PIRs on an old Veritas house alarm system with Texecom ACD-0001's. I've wired in the first using the same screw positions to wire colours as the old one. The tamper switch works (sets off the alarm when the PIR is opened) but no LED and the control box just gives a constant...

No pics yet (floor not set), but the boss was very good about it and agreed it needed redoing. They came off easy enough - maybe not fully set - and by end of day they had redone them. Bit stressful, as they were end of line and in the worst case we'd have had a full-on dispute, not enough...
