Yeah - seen them. The thing is, i need to go from the FCU to the 1st light (just above), then up behind wall unit and across (about 2.5m to bridge over extractor flyover) and then down to the next light under wall unit the other side..... Can you see where im having problems!

    Under wall unit lighting question

Thats the other way i was thinking of Rocky - all i was trying to do was avoid cutting the male/female plugs off to join up but unless i can get a longer lead thats what i will have to do i think.........thats if joining two cables two the load side of the FCU is a No-No!

    Under wall unit lighting question

Thanks BAN - lights are well enough from hobs etc (over 500mm) and the spark who signed the kitchen wiring off said that i,d be ok to just connect up to the load side of the FCU - told him what it was gonna feed and he seemed to think all was fine - just told me to get on with it !

    Under wall unit lighting question

The linkning cables arent long enough - plus they have male and female ends - if i run one up behind the first unit, i cant connect a longer cable to go over the extractor as the plugs dont marry up.

    Under wall unit lighting question

Hi all. This is fairly straight forward question - just need the answer confirming its ok. (i think it is but would like confirmation!) I have some 3 flourescent strip lights to go under my wall units , the kind that link togetherbut due to the spacing of them, im only going to be able to...

    Wiring fridge using fused switch

I suppose no different than plugging a 13a plug into an extension which , in turn, is also fused at 13a? The 13a fused switches i have installed are in an extention of the existing ring and supply their own individual unswitched sockets all of which are easily accessable. As long as its...

Double pole switch for integrated appliances?

If i had thought of that while i was having the CU changed end of last week, i may well have done that! As it stands now, i am extending into the existing kitchen ring for the additional DP's and a few more sockets..........hindsight is a wonderful thing aint it?

Double pole switch for integrated appliances?

d'ya mean a seperate ring for all the appliances fed via a new run of 6mm from the CU? - with just one switch? Have i understood you right Holmslaw?

Double pole switch for integrated appliances?

Spike, I see what your saying....... All my appliances are 13a fused plug (including cooker) so i will be using the "adjacent" socket method i think as opposed to connection plates The oven/gas hob will be controlled via 45a CCU feeding an unswitched double socket (via 6mm obviously)...

Double pole switch for integrated appliances?

Thanks John I know my dishwasher has enough room at the back (depth 540mm) but i agree TOTALLY with you......i cant understand why some manufacturers make their appliances 590mm deep!!!!!!!!!!! Given that most units are only 570mm deep to allow a 600mm worktop to "overhang" the drawer...

Double pole switch for integrated appliances?

Thanks Spike. As you say, i have checked regarding installation depth required on the appliances.........my units are 570mm deep and there isnt going to be alot of space left at the back for much! If i chase out the wall for a gang box then i reckon i could use a flex outlet plate without...
