Woodworm in 3 month old treated joists.

Yes approx 2mm holes all along the affected area. If I treat the joists with treatment on both a Saturday and Sunday for a few weekends, would this likely soak the joists and kill any bugs and prevent re-infestation?

Looking for something to connect two flexible conduit pipes together with IP rating

They come with glands but I can't find an IP rating for the glands so I assumed they weren't. Although the pipe is IP rated and used outdoors so would be silly to supply it with glands that weren't suitable for outdoor use. I think I'll just use the supplied glands to a Wiska box on the floor...

Looking for something to connect two flexible conduit pipes together with IP rating

Thanks so much. Ill check out your method. I can get drawstring through the pipe using a bag and hoover. Once the string is through, the rest should be easy...

Looking for something to connect two flexible conduit pipes together with IP rating

It will run along the floor in the flowerbed to the outbuilding and house Cat6 cable. The cable is external grade but wanted some mechanical protection too. I can't find anywhere that will connect conduit to a junction box

Looking for something to connect two flexible conduit pipes together with IP rating

Thanks, bit more expensive then the £5 for 10m at ScrewFix though. I need to break off half way though as one of the cables will terminate there.

Woodworm in 3 month old treated joists.

The wood was delivered wet, so assuming it was treated just before delivery. Me and the pops checked each joist, moved them around a bunch and installed it all outselves. Neither of us realised until now. The two pieces affected were one installed piece and another spare joist which sat above...

Looking for something to connect two flexible conduit pipes together with IP rating

I need to run 30m of flexible conduit in the garden for some network cabling. The pipe comes in 10m runs so I will need to connect them together. How do you do this ensuring it stays waterproof? Thanks

Woodworm in 3 month old treated joists.

I've spent so much money and time installing 50m² of treated floor joists to find 2 of them covered in woodworm holes a few months later. I checked each joist on delivery so I know they weren't delivered like that. The house has been quite a mess with some rubble and wood saw shavings but since...

Concerned about BCO’s advice (floor insulation install)

I thought his advice was odd... I wanted to use 100mm Celotex but BCO said 80mm was enough. Given my joists are 95mm, I would have to make up the 5mm on the underside with batons which shouldn't be an issue. Could filling the entire joist for insulation cause any issues with preventing the...

We have approx 50mm gap between the outer walls and the parallel joists. How did you get your gap filled? Did you just stuff it with rockwool?

Concerned about BCO’s advice (floor insulation install)

I have replaced all ground floor joists due to damage and the next stage is to insulate them now. The building control officer came round to inspect mid job and advised to install 80mm celotex between our 95mm joists and leave the extra 15mm gap at the top of the insation. (Detached Victorian...

    Full DIY House Renovation...

Regarding the floor insulation: my Building Inspector told me to install 80mm celotex between our 95mm joists and leave the extra 15mm gap at the top. He didn’t mention anything about vapour barriers or taping the gaps. He even advised to not fill the gaps along the walls between the first...

Will A Couple Elbows in MDPE Pipe Affect Pressure?

Hello, I have a 25mm pipe entering the property which I need to run a couple elbows on to take the supply straight up to the new cylinder in the bathroom. Just wondering if this is likely to cause noticeable reduction in pressure by adding elbows? The first elbow is about 10m from the outside...

50mm Floor Build Up in Conservatory - Floating Insulation Boards?

It's 50mm from conservatory concrete slab to the top of the floorboards across the ground floor. 18mm UFH boards will be added across the ground floor, including the conservatory.

50mm Floor Build Up in Conservatory - Floating Insulation Boards?

Breakfast room probably. It's south facing so warm even on a winters day if the sun has been out in the morning.

50mm Floor Build Up in Conservatory - Floating Insulation Boards?

Yes I can see the old owner did lay some.. i think 75mm polystyrene from what I can see. The floor isn't too cold as it stands being a concrete slab but I'd still like to use some extra insulation since I'm installing UFH

50mm Floor Build Up in Conservatory - Floating Insulation Boards?

The base is concrete, its level but not smooth as you'd expect. I thought installing insulation directly on this could cause it to be uneven and allow movement. I guess I could install 25mm insulation, staple the UFH pipe to it, and then fill the remaining ~43mm gap with screed to meet the rest...

50mm Floor Build Up in Conservatory - Floating Insulation Boards?

Evening, I've dug up the old floor in the conservatory as part of the renovation to remove the tiles. I now need to make up 50mm to match the existing floorboard level in the rest of the house. We're laying overlay underfloor heating across the whole ground floor and conservatory and wondered...
