Hiya House is about 20 years old, has squeaky wooden stairs. Any advice how to stop this please?

Hi The wall and bath are not 90 degrees to each other and there would be a slight and increasing gap going away from the wall between the screen and bath. Any tips on how best to rectify this and does it matter if i do anything before i tile the wall. :?: Cheers

Well... the plumber has offered to fit our shower for free as compensation. But he can't fix the hole :cry:

Oh dear... My plumber put his foot partially thru the ceiling above the stairs yesterday. It's left a bent crack about 30 cm long and part of the ceiling is hanging down lower then the over. Any ideas what to do for a novice please :?:

"What type of paint do you call "waterproof"? " I'm not sure - its a house we've moved into and upon stripping off the waterproof paper in the bathroom, we found this paint-type substance on the walls which is resistant to our steamer, but which in parts does peel off in little bits.

Am i safe in tiling on top of water-proof paint :?: Will the tile stick to the wall ok or do i need to get this paint off. Cheers. Andy

I'm currently sanding down (removing grubby varnish) off a bannister and just wondering how to disguise / repair dents (similar to a small hammer dents). Also: Any ideas on what to do with it next... we'd like to keep the wood effect rather than paint over it, but any ideas much appreciated.

Hi I have a wall where one layer of plaster is coming off from the back layer of plaster. Should I put UVA on the back wall and plaster on top of that ? And what type of plaster should I use as when I went to Wickes there was about 5 types of the stuff ! :oops:
