Hi. Tumble dryer with a new plug plus new socket face. It's on the end of a long run, maybe 20 meters. Could that be an issue?

Live pin on tumbler hot even after

..I've changed the socket and also read about bad fused pkugs so just changed that too. It runs for maybe 40 minutes, and then abiut 20 minutes later another 40 minutes. After changing the plug I felt the pins and live was hot hot, like touching a metal kettle. Bad appliance? Bad circuit?

    Leaky elbow in tricky position

Ideas? Not much room or movement to knock this apart. The elbow joint above the cup is dripping. Must have been for yesrs given the build up of crud outside. Hacksaw the elbow ends lengthwise and try to open off like an olive? Cut the elbow in half and oull off? Also thinking to cut off the...

    Will it blow brick?

I'm planning to use these hinges with a large 1.4m heavy wooden gate. My worry though is that I'm going into brick, newly built brick pillars with steels. With the holes being so close to each other, will the brick blow? I was thinking of using some 120mm masonry screws to get into to the back...

Brick Pier - Does it need steel?

Thanks. Doing a 45mm pour just below ground level then engineering bricks. Another builder friend that was going to do an 8 brick now says it should have a steel to prevent it falling. Maybe .akes the job quicker too? If I do go for a steel does it need coating, do you know?

Brick Pier - Does it need steel?

Seems mad - ! Hoping some experience can help. Got a wooden pedestrian gate about 115cm wide and 180 high. I can pick it up by myself. I'm replacing the 100mm x 100mm wooden post it was hung on with a 2-brick pier. Actually it will be solid, with 8 bricks per course. I've read in a few...

Lockshield is 1/2 inch X 1/2 inch but only 15mm available

Hi I've noticed that my lockshield valve va has been leaking. The construction doesn't seem to have a bonnet that I could tighten up and the only replacement I can find are half inch by 15 mm. Presumably I can replace the 1/2 inch on the pipe with 15 mil but then I'll be putting an olive in the...
