Will it blow brick?

I'm planning to use these hinges with a large 1.4m heavy wooden gate. My worry though is that I'm going into brick, newly built brick pillars with steels. With the holes being so close to each other, will the brick blow?
I was thinking of using some 120mm masonry screws to get into to the back filled centre of the pillar.

Thank you. Any suggestions for something similar I can screw into brick?

Have a timber stile fitted to the brick work then hang the gate off it.

How wide is the opening, do you have the gate already?

If you were desperate to use those particular hinges you could get them welded to a piece of mild steel flat bar, say 250mm x 50mm x 6mm which would be more suitable for fixing to masonry.

Having said that, and I know it's a big "no, no", I have fixed a fairly heavy garage door to some brickwork and it's been fine for a few years with plenty of use - touch wood (or not in this case).

I think in principle it will be OK.

But it may depend on the type of brick and any perforations.

Drilling without an SDS hammer would help.
