    Flexible pan connectors

Hi All I have bought a back-to-the-wall toilet and cistern. I've been told by the seller that using a flexible pan connector will make the installation easier. I'm reading in a few places that these flexible connectors are prone to leaking (going off the comments on the Screwfix website)...

    Thermostatic Mixer with female 3/4"

Well I'm planning on buying one like this: http://www.ourtaps.com/shop/article_87/Thermostatic-2-Way-Shower-Valve,-Star-Head-_-Arm.html?shop_param=cid%3D1%26aid%3D87%26 As I understand it, the tiles will sit over the mixer itself and be covered by the metal plate and control knobs...

    Thermostatic Mixer with female 3/4"

Hi All I have a thermostatic mixer with female 3/4" inlets and outlets on it. I can find the male 3/4" push fit flexible fittings on Screwfix but not the female ones or any female to male adapters. Am I missing these somewhere? Anyone know what to do? Thanks

Use a tee or a 3 way manifold?

Hi Guys Not sure if it matters which I use but want to make sure... I have a Heatre Saudia 'Megaflo' which applies cold mains pressure to the hot water tank to ensure I have mains pressure hot water throughout the house. I'm fitting a new bath, sink and toilet and wanted to know if it's...

    Lockshield Valves

I have a Megaflo hot water cylinder and I think I know the pipe you are talking about. If I close all the lockshields and open them all halfway won't that create a huge imabalance? I want to make sure the rads are working properly as the house has never been 'warm' as such, since I have...

    Lockshield Valves

P.S. I read another post on this forum that gave this procedure for balancing the lockshields: Balancing procedure: 1. Turn boiler off and allow to cool 2. Make sure HW is turned off 3. Open all LS valves fully; remove all TRV heads and open all manual rad valves fully. 4. Turn the...

    Lockshield Valves

Hi all I am asking questions like there is no tomorrow  sorry about that! Lockshield valves. I have found a guide on the web that says to balance them you need to: 1. Open the lockshields and TRV's on all the rads. 2. Switch the heating system on. 3. Find the rad that heats...

    Pipes embedded into wall?

Back again with the same question!..... Got my TRV and lockshield today, both are compression fit on the rad tails. I'm trying to picture how this will work if the pipes don't have any movement as the tail will slide into the TRV, the olive goes over it and then the compression fit is made...

    Pipes embedded into wall?

Hi All I have purchased some designer wall mounted rads, the kind that go up the wall. They are 1800 x 420 in size. I have mounted them where I want them and plan to chase the pipes into the wall to give a nice neat finish. The question is this: If I chase these pipes into the wall...

    Radiators and Valves

Oh yes I see what you mean... thanks very much thats a good idea to use that to pour the cleaner and conditioner in! Should the valve on the top of the AAR be open constantly or should it be closed? Just checked and mine is closed, if I open it it starts to leak water.
